dont think many ppl were thrilled with him being picked, but hes had a huge year and impressed the rangers staff during training camp/preseason. he seems to have an elite shot and release.
Many weren’t thrilled with him because he wasn’t one of the hot shots slapped on the cover of prospect books and magazines. You know, how most fans that judge picks seem to operate.

The only player on the Canadiens that I would trade Othmann for is Suzuki and I'd probably want someone with some upside (like Caulfield) coming back in a deal as well.

Seriously?

Suzuki and Caufield
for
Othmann

And other fans say the Habs are bad at over valuing prospects. Come on man. Rethink that one. A guy doing well in the CHL is not worth someone who is doing well in the NHL.

Man, can we trade Joshua Roy for Lafreniere if that's how you value CHL production. Roy has great numbers as well as an 18 year old and Othmann is 19.

They dont need Chariot. Jones-Schneider handled 3rd pair beautifully last night and they have Nemeth as a capable 7th D with Robertson playing well in the AHL.
Really? They were two of a few rangers to be in out attempted at 5v5 with Boston missing Bergeron and Marchand

In a package deal. I'm not saying it would just be Othmann going the other way.

HFNYR was really into trying to trade for him this summer. He checks a ton of boxes off for what the roster needs. Long term deal on the cheap, can reliably be a 2C/3C, especially with the higher end talent on the roster. Strome is a UFA, so he could be the guy to fill that spot with essentially the same salary.

They're 1st would definitely be on the table, Kravtsov would as well. Pretty much matches what the Habs gave up for him. Carolina's 1st will be late, so will the Rangers, possibly earlier than the Canes. Kravtsov likely has similar value to that of a 2nd rounder at this point.

Dvorak for 2022 NYR 1st + Kravtsov

Think its fair.

The Rangers could have acquired Dvorak from Arizona for a 1st round pick. They didn't.

Nobody has any clue about what's going on in the Rangers FO since Drury took over. It's locked up tight. I'd guess 75% of this is speculation.

Every fanbase says that about every front office. And its not like we're talking about some random semi-insider or Eklund here. We're talking about guys like Friedman (well, specifically Friedman).

We don't know how interested they may be, but this reporting would be very likely be coming from Montreal or Chiarot's agent.

Our own beat writers don't even have sources in there any more. Friedman has a lot of sources but he speculates a lot more than he actually calls things these days.

I think rangers are missing a pure right shot right wing. Anderson would fit, but his contract is tough. I'd have to think Gorton would wanna move these long term Bergevin contracts if he could.
