It probably has to do with Cam Fowler, but is there any chance whatsoever the Rangers can pry Sami Vatanen from the Ducks? Maybe JT Miller+ for Vats?


If it's Fowler, can he be had for pennies on the dollar?

We have a little more than $2M in cap space, so we'd be sending someone back. Possibly Miller.

1)Girardi was already here long before the current regime took over. This would be a move to actively acquire an awful player.

2)Now it would be Girardi AND Fowler in the top 4.

Maybe. My initial reaction is it would have something to do with Vatanen after Gorton wasn't willing to the price for Shattenkirk. I haven't heard a lot of positives about Vatanen over the last year and the Ducks need cap space, so maybe he could get a nice price. The Rangers are also overflowing with middle-6/bottom-6 forwards...

Just an example but Miller makes $2.7M, the Rangers have $2.5M in space, that covers Vatanen's cap hit.

Something must be up to involve both of them. Clark doesn't normally scout NHL teams. He has more important things to do with his job. So this must be something special or high priority...
