You are right. They have all exceeded expectations.

Must be why we have been so good the last few years.

JOB, Rubtsov, Laberge failed before they were part of the organization.
Patrick, Allison derailed by injuries, Hart by sleaze.

NAK pretty much reached his expectation as a bottom six forward
Ginning as a #6/#7.
Ratcliffe was the biggest development "failure," but was that development or overdrafting?

So left with Farabee, Frost, Provorov, TK and Sanheim

Saying Luchanko-Michkov is ideal baffles me, because this same guy is pegging Luchanko to be our 3C in other posts.

So Michkov is a 3rd liner now?

Keep Luchanko away from Michkov.

Michkov is a 3rd liner right now.
He's 2-3 years away from being a 1st liner.
Luchanko should be a 3rd liner next season
Let players dictate their usage, when you have a 19 and 20 year old on a line, don't push them.

Blackhawks have now missed the POs 5 straight seasons and will probably have 2-3 more seasons of absolute futility.
Bedard is wearing down and getting discouraged, at 19 he shouldn't be asked to carry a team this bad.
2018: Boqvist #8, Beaudin #27
2019: Dach #3, Vlasic #43
2020: Reichel #17, Commesso G #43
2021: Allan #32, Dach #62
2022: Korchinski #7, Nazar #13, Rinzel #25, Ludwinski #39, Greene #57
2023: Bedard #1, Moore #19, Gagan G #35, Kantserov #44, Misiak #55
2024: Levshunov #2, Boisvert #18, Vanacker #27
Boqvist included in Seth Jones trade, then released by CBJ in 2024
Dach traded for 1st, 3rd rd 2022 picks

Except Hathaway is a RW.
And Michkov prefers the right side.

Bring back Giroux!

Not sure if youre joking... but Ive been thinking more and more how much G would improve this line up.

We get told over and over how certain vets need to be the line up bc theyre crucial to the development on the young players. Well...the young forwards need help generating offense...a productive vet like G would fit the bill. Hes the logical target bc they already have an in with him. Hed be a great mentor for MM.

Dach traded for 1st, 3rd rd 2022 picks

Problem here is Hawks rebuild only just started at 2022 draft

Hawks were trying to squeeze out some playoff appearances in final years of Toews/Kane

Bowman was fired at start of 2021 season. A season in which the Hawks actually were expecting to compete for playoffs (Traded for Seth Jones and Marc Andre Fleury, signed Jake McCabe as FA)

Davidson when permanently hired (Interim tag removed March 1st) sold ownership of need to completely blow it up and rebuild

Two weeks after his interim tag was removed, he made his first big move (Hagel deal) and then at draft made two other huge trades (Debrincat and Dach)

Hawks acquired a bevy of picks in those deals

- 2022 1st round pick from Ott in Debrincat deal (Hawks selected D Kevin Korchinski, 7th overall)
- 2022 1st round pick from Mtl in Dach deal (Hawks selected C Frank Nazar, 13th overall)
- 2023 1st round pick from TB in Hagel deal (Hawks selected C Oliver Moore, 19th overall)
- 2024 1st round pick from TB in Hagel deal (Hawks selected C Sacha Boisvert, 18th overall after trade up with Isles)
- 2022 2nd round pick from Ott in Debrincat deal (Hawks selected C Paul Ludwinski, 39th overall)
- 2022 3rd round pick from Mtl in Dach deal (Hawks selected LW Gavin Hayes, 66th overall)
- 2024 3rd round pick from Ott in Debrincat deal (Hawks selected C Anthony Spellacy, 72nd overall)

Hawks have eaten contracts as well for rebuild

- Took on G Petr Mrazek contract from Leafs to jump from #38 back into 2022 draft (Hawks selected D Sam Rinzel, 25th overall)
- Took on D Nikita Zaitsev contract from Senators for 2023 2nd round pick (Hawks selected RW Roman Kantserov, 44th overall) and 2026 4th round pick
- Took on C Jason Dickinson contract from Canucks for 2024 2nd round pick (Pick traded in move up for Boisvert)
- Took on LW Josh Bailey contract from Islanders for 2026 2nd round pick
- Took on LW Ilya Mikheyev contract from Canucks for 2027 2nd round pick

Additional trades for rebuild plan from Davidson that netted future picks involved for Hawks

- C Max Domi + Sam Wells to Dallas Stars for G Anton Khudobin + 2025 2nd round pick
- D Jake McCabe (50% retained) + C Sam Lafferty to Maple Leafs for Leafs 2025 1st + 2026 2nd

And of course, Davidson ended Kane era with trade to Rangers for 2023 2nd round pick (Hawks selected C Martin Misiak, 55th overall) + 2025 4th

The Bowman drafting strategy is very different from Davidson is pretty clear as well with Davidson wanting alot of picks and making trade ups into 1st round in 2 of his first 3 drafts for additional prospect he liked (Rinzel in 2022 and Vanacker in 2024). He tried in 2023, but no one was willing to trade out of 1st

Chicago has far less young talent than the Flyers, they are building from scratch.
Right now they're patching with veterans,
Foligno (37), Teravanian (31), Hall (33), Dickinson (29), Bertuzzi (29), Mikhevev (30), Smith (35), Maroon (36)
Brodie (34), Jones (30), Murphy (31), Martinez (37)
Mrazek (32)

Mostly b/c a lot of prospects are CHL, NCAA or abroad, but also b/c they don't want to rush prospects, so
Nazar, Korchinski, Levshunov, 1st rd and Dach, 2nd rd, are in the AHL.

Saw G on Sportnet the other night, after yet another Ottawa loss. He would be perfect for the Flyers, he could use the same script: "We have a young team but we have to step up. It has to be everyone going, every night, not just a few guys. We will be better." He'd had so much practice at that same speech in Philly, it's been an easy transition to losing with another team.

Frost and Drysdale.
I'd rather keep Foerster over Frost, more upside left and the Flyers need a legitimate PF.
