Would have preferred 3-3.25 million range over 4 years especially in this cap world but he's gonna play with good linemates and if he can take faceoffs and win them at crucial spots he can lineup with anyone (strome/Chytil/Zibby). I think they also like his pk ability and versatility if needed.

This is so, so bad lmao. not just the deal itself, but what it signals for the future for your team.

I watched the Canucks clean out their successful, progressive management team and replace them with brain-damaged ex-players. That was 7 years ago. The result is that I don't really watch hockey anymore, after 30 years of obsessing over it. Anyway enjoy!

So you're just trolling? Seriously, GTFO. Go to your own board.

So we’re going to lose the best PK’er in the league who was on pace for 72pts this season and is 2 years younger, so we can give a massive contract to a guy who is not even close to as good of a PK’er and who’s career high is 24 pts

Isn't the deadline for Seattle on Wednesday? Or did I miss something.

Seattle has 2 options (technically) with exclusivity
1 - sign Goodrow before Wednesday, he is theirs, and counts as their NYR selection
2 - claim Goodrow on Wednesday, counts as their NYR selection, giving Seattle exclusive rights to negotiate but only until UFA season launches July 28

You're not wrong but what if Buch is asking for 7 million plus behind the scenes? Of course he's more talented than Goodrow but Goodrow brings some things Buch does not.

I don't think there is anything that Goodrow brings, aside from being another body in the lineup, that can be argued as a contributing cause to trading Buch.

If Buch's price tag is too high, then that would be unfortunate and it could make sense to move him. But Goodrow doesn't do anything that helps replace him; again, aside from being another body, two or three lines farther down the lineup.

In the space of two months, he also traded Howden and signed Lindgren to what everyone agreed was an excellent deal. Not sure you can make this judgment.

Also, as I've said, I read it as identifying his guy and going out and getting him – that's very much from the Gorton school of GMing.
As much as I would like to be irrational and tell you that you are wrong because I don't like this deal, you aren't. You are spot on.
