that said though definitely like seeing Lias get a chance to play with Kreider and Kravtsov to see what he can do with 2 skilled players instead of muckers....but still would have given chytil the chance with kreider first.

I'm unclear how people determine what would be the optimal line combos before seeing them play.

Pretty simple to have a preference. I think kakko drives his line likes to carry the puck. As does panarin. I’d rather split them up. I also don’t love putting an 18 year old against the top lines and defenders in the world. As good as he is that’s a really tall order for anyone.

Not even Crosby started on the top line.

I like Buchnevich on that top line and kakko with Chytil and Kreider personally

I like Kreider re-signed and playing on the 2nd line with Chytil and Kakko, Kravtsov on the top like with Panarin and Zibanejad, and Buch moved for a quality package that includes a 1st.

Everyone going to ignore that find from @Amazing Kreiderman that said SKA’s home rink is NHL sized? It’s the talent that is different. The KHl sucks. Sorry but it does. He’ll figure it out.

Even Vasilvesky was nursed along in Syracuse, then under Bishop for a couple of seasons before he was given the green light.

thats the question that i'd asked coach quinn...the issue imo isn't the line combos but that they were switched without even giving them a shot. he put together logic lines and then switched them to other logic lines without ever letting the first group play. if he had kakko with panarin and mika from day one than there would be no discussion imo.

According to an article I just read, SKA is going to an NHL sized rink for the 2019-20 season, it was not NHL sized when he was playing there.
