Post-Game Talk: Rangers 2 - Canadiens 3

The Rangers did not quite do what they needed to do.
The Canadiens actually deserved this win, no two ways about it.

Tokarski was their best player. That last goal sucked. I had a bad feeling about this game from the start win game 4, and go back on the road where they're more comfortable.

The Habs barely had any chances. We dominated the puck.

So what, though? What other goal was he supposed to stop?

Dominate. Make random goalie look like God. Lose.

Eh, Tokarski made himself look like God.

The Rangers didn't play bad. Played a good game actually. The hockey gods did a complete injustice to the Rangers. The Rangers thoroughly dominated and got hosed by the refs, but Montreal got the bounces and their goalie stood on his head. Hank was bad.

This... Total fluke of a game....

6 goals in 3 games and 4 of those off of bodies/skates... I mean it doesn't get any luckier than that.. Not to mention those ****ing refs with the bs that they let fly in the beginning...

Absolute disaster of a game! But not the fault of the rangers. They did everything right and just didn't pull it out. It happens..

Game 4 win and all is forgiven.

Its not the end of the world. A little adversity might not be a bad thing right now. You have to keep the foot on the gas if your going to win in the 3rd round.

Why is it every time the Rangers lose it's because Lundqvist got outplayed? Try finishing up some scoring chances on home ice with a chance to bury the Habs in a 0-3 hole.

It's not the refs fault either. Both teams got two powerplays and all four were unimpressive.

How can people seriously sit here and say Lundqvist had a bad game? I mean come on. What the hell is he suppose to do on those last two goals? Problem is you Hank haters are just spoiled brats.

this is exactly why i didnt get that excited when we tied it. im never confident with henrik in overtimes.

rangers always break your heart in the end. it would certainly be typical rangers to choke this series away after being up 2-0 with the canadians backup goalie.

Staal quietly had a hell of a game. Guy deserves some respect since no one else is giving him any lol.

I don't really know what he would do differently. If he is in front of Galch, the puck bounces off of Staal and in. No matter who is there, that puck is in.

Lucky bounce the only thing I am sure Hank would have back, was he totally angled that save away. It wasn't his fault he didn't realize there was a guy behind him. It was an easy save and normally thatpuck goes right to the boards away from everyone.

Goal was 100% on Staal's failure to check the man coming in. Anyone who says it's Lundqvist's fault is ridiculous.

That's not true at all. That puck would have went in had Staal checked him or not. If he had checked him, he's risking an interference penalty, anyway. If Staal is checking him, the momentum is carrying them both to that same place and the puck then goes off Staal instead of Galch.

That is simply a bad bounce and you can't blame Hank OR Staal for it.

I would be saying this, if I rooted for literally any team that isn't the Rangers.

Always brace for disappointment. I swear, I won't be surprised to see Montreal win this in 6.

1st goal was on Hank. 2nd goal was a terrible bounce. 3rd goal was a terrible bounce.

Does Rick Nash ever show any emotions on the ice? On Kreider's goal he gingerly skates over to his teammates to celebrate. So sick of his nonchalant attitude on the ice.

Tough start with the officiating, but Rangers had their fair share of chances and either Tolarski made a ridiculous save or we shoot it into the glass.

Oh well. Hopefully come out strong in Game 4 and take a 3-1 lead back to Montreal. Really don't want this series going back to MTL tied.

I don't know about that. They didn't play particularly well. Fortunately for them, neither did the Rangers in the second half.

Doesn't even matter. Rangers again beating themselves and sucking on home ice making a rookie goalie look like a vezina candidate.

Wouldn't be surprised if Habs win in 7.

worst outcome possible. this f-ing montreal team isn't going to go away.

go back through the previous game threads tonight - many of us said it - that this game STINKS of the boston series - and sure enough, here we go again

because of this totally predictable loss tonight - this series is totally up in the air. Montreal can absolutely take it now. Cant believe it. Who the hell is gonna knock them off?

Since game 1 in Boston, all they've done is get totally dominated and win the game. Game. After game. After game. After game. Same old game plan. Get walked all over each game.. and then win it. seems like it can't be real, with the way they play such garbage hockey, and here they are, ready to go deep into round 3. Someone had better figure them out, and fast. If the way to win a game is to get destroyed for 60 minutes and then still win it, maybe the Rangers should adapt this style of play. Because it worked for Montreal for 7 games in Boston and now tonight again.

I really hate to say it, but this is going to go right to 7 games and don't be surprised if the habs take it.

I don't know. Looked to me like he played it ok. It would have gone off to the boards if Galchenyuk wasn't there. Just looked like a terrible bounce. I don't know what else he could have done with that shot.

Smother it? Like 95% of other NHL goaltenders.

My biggest criticism of Hank is his seeming inability to melt the puck. He's always coughing up silly rebounds like this. Tonight, he got burned twice.

Sure, it's a lucky bounce, but it's a bounce that didn't have to happen.
