love the color! I have f***ed up the paint job on everything i've attempted, including just minor touch-up, so would never attempt this myself.
Oddly it was supposed to be more red ,it was even red or more red in the can,but after I sprayed it it was orange .I sent pics to TCP global where I ordered it from and they sent me another gallon of paint..but I lived with the orange due to how much work it is to redo. I could spray over it but then you have to color sand the whole car ,compound it all ,and buff up to shine..it's a ton of time.

I closed my garage door on a white van I had, with a TON of flake in the paint. Of course it wasnt the bottom of the garage door with the rubber and the padding, but it had to be a metal bracket. Gouged a good chunk off the trunk lid. I purchased 4 bottles of touch up directly from Honda. I sanded, primed, applied a white, then a flake, then clear coated. I forget how many times I sanded and attempted this, but I f***ed up every step of the way. It honestly would have been better if I used a bottle of White-Out.

My ex never noticed it, we ended up splitting about 6 months later and she took the van and traded it in almost immediately. So I guess ultimately I'll consider it a success! I will never try it again. If it doesn't come out with a little elbow grease during a handwash, I won't touch it

I think the orange is sharp as f***

In the market for a new car, fun to drive, good space, open to SUV and 4 door sedan, probably 85k max. US.
Is there actually a such thing as an SUV that is fun to drive under $85,000 (or at all, for that matter)?

The VW Golf R is fun to drive, has good space and is far cheaper than that, but is neither a sedan nor an SUV.

I assume some of the Audi SUVs and Macan T would be fun to drive but to find one to test drive is hard in orlando where I live.

Yeah those are hard to find right now.

You have a good-sized budget but car prices are still through the roof right now and there's allocation problems everywhere.

I was really pushing mine the other day on MA 2. Up near redline in 2nd going uphill, made a lot of noise. I. Regret. Nothing.

In terms of fun, the Civic Type R has it beat (better engine, better tranny) but it looks so absolutely hideous that there's no way you can take an adult seriously driving that car.

(EDIT: In the winter, the WRX obviously slaughters the Type R.)

I went from a 2015 WRX to a 2022 Tesla Model 3 Performance and I have to say the Tesla is way more fun. Best daily driver on the planet IMO.

It's much, much faster. But if your primary measure of a car's enjoyment is straight-line speed, then honestly you are not really the target audience for a WRX in the first place.

This is where Teslas shine; they are exceptional daily drivers.

Biggest Genesis sedan you can find and afford, and when i say afford i mean reasonably. I’m much more conservative with these types of purchases though. Could i have doubled the price of my last car purchase? Sure. But i just don’t see the value in it.

If you're open to a sedan, the Audi S4 has a v6 with very good power, is AWD of course as well, so utilizes the power very well. (The rear sports differential make this a very agile sedan on the twisties)

They're very fun to drive. In the winter the fun factor jumps even higher too! They have good cargo space for a sedan as well since the rear seats can fold down to expand trunk space.

This is actually a good bet.

...your post made me look up used R8's to get an idea of how expensive the absolutely GLORIOUS open-gated manual tranny versions are nowadays. I found several in the $85K range but none with the V10 unfortunately, only the V8.

Does this car have storage? Literally f***ing none. Can it seat more than two comfortably? Absolutely not. Does it meet his criteria? Yes. I mean no. I mean...what were we talking about again?

I test drove the S5 and the X3 M40i, as well as some others. I ordered the 23 X3 M40i. I loved the versatility of the SUV and honestly the X3 delivered the power better than the S5. S5 felt laggy sometimes, X3 was glorious. Audi was much nicer on the inside and I liked the technology package better.

Cars got me into trouble today.

We're walking through downtown today, when I see a Ferrari 355, one of the nicer looking cars they ever made. It was in black, so not my absolute favorite color, but with that car who gives a shit. My wife, who was remarking on the weather, said aloud "Beautiful day today." I responded, in a rather suggestive manner, with "It very certainly is. Wow." Completely unbeknownst to me, not 1 second prior, one of the MILFiest MILFs that ever MILFed happened to be jogging right in my wife's line-of-sight. By the time I caught sight of her it was too late.

I'll be sleeping on the couch tonight, lads.

With the disc brake conversion complete, it was time for my father to get comfortable driving our 64 again. He has to drive left footed, and we have a hand controls set that he was using. Prior to this week he was keeping his left foot over the brake pedal, and using the stick to push the gas with his right hand

The brake pedal is so sensitive that he can no longer rest his foot on it, as it’s burning up the pads.

So i adjusted the hand controls again and hooked it up to both the brake and the gas, and off we went. It isn’t the best device, and probably wasn’t designed with a 60 year old car in mind, but it works.

Hopefully in 30 years i can recreate the moment with my boys

Tesla Model Y, best car and purchase I've ever made. I had a Model 3 for awhile but had a third kid so we got a third row Y. It's quick as heck, has enough space for everything we need, cheap as heck to drive (spent $150 to drive every day over the past month.) It handles well for a 3 Row SUV and will dust every on ramp you'll find.

Can you get those for $85,000? Just asking, I genuinely don't know.

No worries, Teslas buying system is pretty straight forward so their prices are pretty static as per the website (they can change down the line)

Model Y performance with FSD would run 82,990 USD
Model Y Performance without FSD is 75,990 USD
Model Y AWD without FSD is 73,990 USD
Model Y AWD with FSD is 79,990 USD

Base prices are 65,990 and 69,990 USD without any additions or paint color change
