Subaru has almost entirely abandoned their long time fans, and cater almost entirely to soccer moms. I find most of their cars to be pretty sharp looking, which doesn’t surprise me because most all look the same. But good god the driving dynamic is just so lack luster and lazy.
"Understeer: it's what makes Subaru, a Subaru."

Saw a Dodge Viper today, a later model I think. Definitely not a 90's model.

I'm amazed at how freaking wide that car is. Like, I know it's wide, but I'm still surprised every time I see it. that's what she said.

I think it's time to rip the band aid off and upgrade to boosted disc brakes on the Chevelle. I am starting to really dislike the old ass manual drum brakes, and I don't really trust them either. Certainly they aren't to be trusted if my father takes the car out. I have the money to do it, it's really not an expensive job at all. Just no time at all

Driveway got ripped up and graded, with the additional lane added. Curb cut expected tomorrow. New dishwasher ordered. New Rav4 should be in by the end of the month....busy times!

So I splurged on a new air filter a while ago. $34.99 just for a FRAM. Old one didn't look bad but I thought what the hell.

First couple trips out I was hoping to feel some gains, but nothing jumped out at me. But now that the computer has had some time to adjust the air and fuel trims, it's feeling amazing! Throttle response is much much better and certain hills I go up where the truck would shift to get up, no longer need the shift. So the power is there.

Long story short, if its been 20,000 miles or whatever, don't ignore your air filter. It'll probably pay for itself in fuel savings and provide a better driving experience

I usually change mine every summer. Cheap, takes 10 minutes, makes me feel like I'm doing something right! Win Win Win.

That's not a bad idea actually. You probably drive more then me though. Not taking into account the over sized tires, I've only put 30,000 kms on the odometer in what 5 years? I'll be doing less since we sold the cottage too

Hah. I have had my current car (2020 Subaru WRX, base model, 6-speed) since late December 2019. Since that time, I have approximately 1100 miles on it, total. I've worked from home since March 2020 and our family car is the other one. The lease ends at the end of this year but I'm thinking that due to the hilariously low mileage that my buyout is going to be WAY cheaper than what the dealership could sell it for right now, so I'm inclined to keep it.

Sorry about the OT.

I lived in Florida from 2005 to mid-2010 but haven't been back since. It appears to have become even more crazy since I left.

I miss having a mango tree in my front yard. :(

Both of my cars I bought airaid oil free washable filters for the car's cold air intake, take them out and wash them every 15k miles. 5hp boost over traditional filters. Never need to buy another filter for either car. ;)

Ya i used to be like that with my other vehicles. Go out and buy a K & N filter, new plugs and fancy Taylor wires in whatever color I felt like, even though it was running fine.

This is seriously the first vehicle where I said to myself "nope dont touch anything. Just enjoy it the way it is". And that's been working so far.

I do however need to address the speakers. Driver front doesnt work and the subwoofer hates life. But we all know what happens when you start pulling apart 22 year old plastic....so I might leave that too

I look at it this way... $80 bucks for one filter, never need to buy another...or $40 bucks each time the filter gets dirty? Which costs less?

Easy choice to buy the washable filter.

Everything else is stock.

My wife had huge grapefruit trees when she was a kid, until the state made them cut the trees down.

The excuse from the officials was this measure was enacted to prevent citrus canker. Everyone knew that wasn't the main reason, it was due to pressure from the citrus agrabusiness lobby wanting to eliminate competition.

Today is a good day. Got the tabs for the Shelby and took her out to stretch her legs. Latest ice taken her out of the garage since I bought it in 2011!

About damn time the weather cooperates!

Received my brake booster and such for the disc conversion on the 64…but brake lines ship “later from the manufacturer”

In other words, there’s no ETA on it.

C'mon boys, wheres the chit chat? Way too quiet around here.
Here's a conversation that literally went on in our car today on I-95:

Wife: "Look at these two cars, what are they?"
Me, after drooling: "Two Porsches, one a 911 Turbo S and the other a 911 Carrera GTS."
Wife: "I like the blue one better than the white one."
Me: "Those aren't blue and white, they are Gentian Blue Metallic and Chalk, respectively."
Wife: "That is not interesting to me."
Me: "I literally don't care."
