other than being an important part to two world series wins...idk

He only won 1 world series 1971.

He also inexplicably lost the ability to pitch a baseball ending his career in 75. i.e. mental issues.

And there has been PLENTY of players that have been a part of the teams that won a WS. Yet they don't get the same accolades. People feel sorry for him being weak mentally. I don't.

The organization would be better off letting him ride into the sunset. It would give my ears a break from all his drivel during games as a bonus.

he was 2nd in CY young voting in 72', had 2 great season. 6 good ones. and we lose the 71 WS without him. 2 CG 2-0 1.00 ERA. ACE!

Cole should have never been in it.

Usually the pitchers on the Pirates are entirely to blame for the stolen bases but lately its more on the catchers making mental mistakes. Inability to transfer the ball from glove to hand and today actually just completely missing the catch.

This is unreal how bad our ability to stop base stealing is. Our pitchers even in the stretch which is specifically designed to hold the runner are painfully slow to the plate. Teams will continue to exploit this weakness until the Pirates dedicate to stopping it.

Aces don't lose the ability to pitch. MENTAL MIDGET!

And it doesn't mean we have to be subjected to his drivel since 85. Blass sucks as a color man and no amount of history will ever change that fact.

Second straight inning Cole gets out of a jam with a runner on third and less than two outs.

Can the offense please wake up now.

No catcher is going to throw out the runner when your pitcher is clocked in the high 1's with the delivery. Martin and Molina withstanding. It also seems like our pitchers are taught to basically ignore the runner. Almost like a tradeoff. How many times have you seen the runner on 1st take off with such a lead that no catcher to include Martin/Molina had a chance in hell? Even in the stretch our pitchers other than Caminero this year look like they are in a full wind up.

The playoff teams are taking notes guaranteed.

IDC, 2 complete games in a WS is as ace as you can get.

Myself, I don't respect mentally weak people.

I also don't like anyone arrogant enough to think he should be allowed to pick just when he does games. i.e. announcing that he will only do home games in 2005. Arrogant enough to think anyone gave a damn.
