Pirates have an opportunity to bury the Giants this weekend.

I don't want anything to do with Bum and the Giants in a wildcard game this year.

Still can't put that putrid July out of mind. Can't be trusted totally.

I still really like the idea of piggybacking him with Locke. 2 innings of Caminero and then 5-6 innings of Locke (where, if he goes through some batters three times, it's the bottom of the order).

AC and Blanton have been fantastic the past few weeks.

Kang doubles and knocks in a run. A double and a hr in the last 3 games for Kang. Not half bad for a guy who is "struggling".

I'd give Kang a day off every week to keep him fresh, but he would be one of my regulars i'd play almost every day.

Ditto.

We have to remember that the KBO doens't have 7 game weeks, so some struggles are to be expected when he's over-worked...but that only means one day off a week for those weeks we don't have a day off (we're in a stretch of ~3 weeks without one).

5 pitch inning by Chuck...gotta like that.

I'm fine if they wanna give him more days off. When Mercer and Harrison return, they can actually afford to do that because competent major leaguers will be taking his place.

Charlie looked like this against the mets; gave up two homers, and instead of giving the bucs bullpen a night off they pitched 8 or so innings. need him to stay focused and finish this one strong

no evidence to overturn that. you have to honor the original call at that point, but major league baseball can't help themselves

Since they introduced it last season, expanded review in MLB has had a real issue with the idea of conclusive evidence. NFL, NHL and NBA have the same standard that there needs to be conclusive evidence to overturn. When you watch the other 3 leagues, 9 times out of 10 you can correctly guess the result of the review. With MLB, it's a real crapshoot. It is a joke.

If they want to have a different standard and say that their reviews will be called based on what the reviewing officials deems to be the correct call it would be one thing and I'd be fine with that. As it stands, their rules demand conclusive evidence to overturn yet their replay officials just make whatever call they want. It's unprofessional and stupid.
