BTW, don't look now, but guess which receiver is #2 overall in the entire league in separation win rate (number of routes run vs number of times they got separation).

Hint, its our rookie WR with the famous football family name.

Im shocked hes not taking punts at this point. They kept using the dude trying to catch the ball with his face.

And its not like they don't have WRs to throw to.

Here's something interesting about the Bears vs Redskins OL rankings. Preseason, PFF had the Skins as 27th and the Bears as 11th. After week 10 (before the Pitt game) they had the Skins at 8 (up 3 spots from week 9) and the Bears at 26 (down 6 spots from week 9)

So DC went from 27 to 8 while the Bears went from 11 to 26. Lots of factors there including health, but QB play has to be part of it.
Can’t blame it largely on the line….it’s him and coaching.

I like McCaffrey and Sinnott. Both will be valuable parts of the offense. I like the slow approach but it is time to move. Heading into back half of season and in position to make playoffs, you gotta get your weapons involved. They should be ready by now as first three round picks.

Couldn’t have happened to a better dude. Consummate pro, never complains. Remarkably, has never had less than 900 yds receiving, even with this team’s clown car of QBs his first 5 seasons.

Even though I’d like to see him YAC his way into the end zone more often, he’s proven better this season than I ever thought he’d be. He’s only 1 TD away from tying his career high.

Also, not super familiar with this stat. But, kinda surprised it wasn’t someone like AJB, JJ, Chase, Evans, or D-Hop.

Skins OL now up to 3rd overall in PFF rankings. Only gave up 4 pressures to Pitt, however 2 of them did become sacks.

Detroit, Denver, Washington are the top three.

It’s him doing what he did in college…..holding the ball too long.
Yeah, this. In college he struggled to trust his reads and held the ball too long but he’s an insane athlete and could run around and improvise. Can’t do that at this level. He’s going to need to learn to play QB.

Funny how quickly the narrative of, “Caleb went to the best possible situation and he’ll be the clear cut best rookie QB,” did a 180.

Wasn't that also the case with RG?

So many red flags on Caleb in the draft process. So many things pointed to Diva and things we saw in Haskins and RG3.
He was a local kid
His Dad was trying to pick his team
His painting his nails
Crying in his Moms arms right after a loss

Just a lot of things we have seen around here that didnt work out. I might have become a Caleb hater lol

Well the narrative that the Skins OL and lack of WR's would punish JD here also changed. Things change in the NFL and perceptions in the summer can radically be altered when the games happen. The fact that its all working in the Redskins favor simply proves that the Snyder curse has been lifted.

Yep, I remember the debate well. Lots of little things that painted a bigger picture. For me also, it was just the difference in accuracy from JD to CW/DM that sold it all.

I was a Drake guy, not afraid to admit it. I had RGIII PTSD and couldn't stand the thought of another tall, thin, mobile QB getting piledriven into the turf every week by dudes twice his size. Never had any concerns about his character or who he was as a person on or off the field, was strictly a mental block from watching RGIII get bent in half and ruin his career before it even started.

JD vs DM was actually a pretty fair discussion and the preferences for one vs the other were all valid. But I just saw something really off in CW and would not have drafted him 1OA if we had that pick ourselves. I saw it as JD>DM>(JJ/MP/BN)>CW, which was pretty far from any consensus but it feels like CW may be the biggest bust of all of them, unless something changes his trajectory.

Yeah, JD/DM vs Caleb was kinda like Nabers vs Odunze for me. You only got media glimpses prior to the draft, but Nabers was already wearing the flashy clothes, 15 pounds of jewelry, gold teeth and Rome is this nice, normal kid in comparison. I gotta see an ounce of humility or I get the heebie jeebies. I'd have taken Odunze without a second thought.

Caleb woulda made me nervous. He has crazy skills, but his character just seems so ordinary to me. Add in the shit with his dad and it'd feel like I was drafting Macaulay Culkin, y'know?

Daniels vs Maye was just a fun conversation for me because I'm not enough of a football expert to have a definitive take one way or the other and both of them just seemed to be likable, aw-shucks kinda guys. Didn't feel like we could really go wrong either way. Not catastrophically anyway.

I'm sure Caleb will be fine, but I'd be sweating it if I were a Bears fan.

LOL @Caleb and the Bears that just can't seem to develop a QB.

Eagles are stout against the run. I do hope we just run into the brick wall just to keep the D honest. I want the game in the hands of JD5. Start the game with play action and go from there.

I don’t think his struggles have anything to do with those things.

Bears screwed up keeping a virtual lame duck HC. Now that guy and his staff are all but guaranteed to be gone and this kid is going to be dealing with a new HC/OC/system for his 2nd straight year. Bears Management has completely f’ed this up….

Caleb on the surface would seem to need to be more coachable….
