Skenes bringing the heat, and that’s good. Because James Paxton is unreal.

…and/or we just suck offensively. But Paxton does have good numbers - that’s the issue with this starting pitching situation of ours. Too many other teams have really good pitchers thus far. Most maybe not as good as ours, but good enough. Like how we got Sku-balled last week.

Heyward double. Sick shimmy from the Jay-Hey kid!

Good to know your baseball opinions are just as bad as your football opinions.

How is Paxton "unreal" and who is "the Jay-Hey kid"?

I was being sarcastic, those guys aren’t really that good so let’s not make them look it. Paxton with a rough start - I’ll eat crow tho. These guys actually hit when Skenes starts.

Got to say, I kind of feel silly posting that Paul Skenes-Rowdy Tellez run support "We don't do that here" meme...

If I'm reading this ESPN stat correctly, entering into tonight Skenes had received more run support (35) in 4 starts than Jared Jones has (33) in 12 games .

Wow, Paxton pulled after 1.2 IP

I love that a "bad" Skenes start is 3 runs in 5 IP. Dude is a generational pitcher.

He obviously still has areas needing to improve, namely with his efficiency, but he's living up to every ounce of hype he was given.

Yeah the 5th pitch was 104 MPH on the dot, while the 6th pitch was rounded up from 103.8 MPH.

Absolutely insane velocity. It's kinda crazy how much his velocity swings, his fastball has sat anywhere from 95 MPH to 104 MPH now.
At age 36 too! I'm seeing he threw 105.8...14 years ago. Crazy.

We're surely going to break some kind of velo records with Skenes, Jones, and Chapman, right?

Hayes has been hitting really well since he came back from his injury. I think that may just be something that hampers him his entire career, which would really stink and limit how well he'll hit, but you know he can hit really well when he's healthy.
