I don't understand why Davis is still in Indy. Looking at box scores he seems to be doing well enough down there.
It's unreasonable to expect Grandal to improve at this point.

Mitch Keller is one of the most fraudulent "ace" pitchers in recent MLB memory. He routinely struggles against bad offensive teams and you saw tonight what happens when he faces a contending team. Keller's low ERA is one of the biggest facades in baseball.
JV squad vs Varsity
Rumor is Pirates' management also knows this and that's why they didn't bother with getting any big bats at the deadline. The Pirates main focus this offseason should be getting a legitimate number 2 starter to pair with Skenes. Keller is a #3 starter, at best.

Got to a point of indifference, finally. Now I can care a lot less which is good.
mitch keller is one of hte least fraudulent good #3 / bad #2 starters in the league though, which is what everyone realistically thinks he is

That of course highly favors LAD... But... What the hell doesn't favor them?
I feel we played about as well as the could last night. It's clearly as @Empoleon8771 said, just outclassed. Gonna take a heap of luck.
Gonna suck if they get high pitch count on us cause good lord do we not want to hit the bullpen to start the 6th.
Pitching was our weak spot, became a strong point, now it's suspect as hell again.

They will go with Skenes Keller Jones next hseason they aren’t going to spend any money on pitching
The reason they didn’t do more at the deadline was they knew this stretch would kill them but they will have a good September finish and hopefully spring board into next season

Returning to the past-time of monitoring MILB since the season is ending.
Mitch Jebb, as much as we all hate the pick, has had a great 2nd half. OPS of like .900 and more BBs than Ks. He has definitely retained some prospect value, although these contact guys have low margin for error. I was so hyped about Cheng last year but then he has just been so-so in Altoona.
