Nice play by Hayes to snag that liner, and get the easy DP, with the runner at 1B running.
Keller sporting that 6.11 ERA......yucky.
Reynolds can't lay off the high stuff.
I think that series was a decent wakeup call about the true talent of the MLB team. The Reds are extremely bad, but they are basically interchangeable with us and the Cubs, and the final order will probably be anyone's guess.
One glimmer of good news is that Davis will move up to Altoona, which you would think puts him in a solid position to crack MLB next year. Cruz also cut down on the Ks this week, which is a small step in the right direction. The hits are falling and the top-of-the-line exit velocity is still there, so as long as he makes contact, he'll right the ship pretty quickly.
I think the most egregious thing right now is Contreras continuing to be down. Kranick actually looks intriguing in short bursts, but Contreras could have been called up for the doubleheader and then sent back to AAA as a roster move to gain some more days. I am not sure what the calculation is, but I think they are going to have to drag their feet with him "stretching out in AAA" for 3 more weeks or so in order to gain the extra year.

Castro is just below the level of forcing the issue, too. And Newman is out obviously. Tucker's days are numbered here.It literally doesn’t matter what Tucker is or isn’t doing. He’s a placeholder. When Cruz mashes AAA for a good stretch then he’ll be up
The problem is between the ears, still.
To have a 4-run lead and then still give up 2 in the bottom half...he's vulnerable up there on that mound.
I wish I could see him finding it because the stuff is now up a tick. But I don't.
