I don't think playing Endy in multiple positions is really something they should be doing, unless they're 100% convinced that Davis will be able to stick behind the plate.

I think the plan should probably be Davis being the starting DH/backup catcher, while Rodriguez is the starting catcher. I don't think you need more 2B or LF with Rodriguez's skillset.

If we get robot umps Davis can absolutely stay behind the plate

To your point not everyone pans out, in fact most don’t. But I’m not ready to start over yet. I'm judging players off of 2/3rd of a season!

2/3rds of a season where the guys up here have almost all sucked, the guys in the minors aren't lighting the world on fire and the franchise has (justifiably) said that the Gamels and Marisnicks give us a better chance to win games then this crew.

Individually it's all well and good but at a top down level we needed to emerge from this season with 2-3 starters in addition to Cruz, Hayes and Reynolds. The only guy who even flashed at that level is Suwinski but he has since cratered.

See below. Notice anything when you look at the Top OPSes in AAA? Or rather, notice who is missing? Anyone from Indy.

I don't give a lot of credit to a GM who managed to turn the 20th ranked system into the 5th when he was allowed to trade Musgrove, Taillon, Bell (who he traded a year too late to boot), Marte and Frazier. And had 3 years of picking at the top and having the highest bonus pool. His grade is a B- at best and with each subsequent guy who reaches the upper minors and atrophies it gets worse and worse.

That list tells me nothing. Some of those guys are legit prospects. Most are AAAA players like Jake Cave and Will Benson. Not to mention the PCL is hitter’s paradise.

As much as I want all these players to hit supernova status and help us win games, the fact is, they’re largely 21-23 years old playing AA or AAA for the first season and they didn’t have a season in 2020. Frustrating? Yep. Acceptable? No. But I’m not willing to hit the nuclear button and start over.

And I’ll give BC credit for last year’s draft. Bonus pool aside he was able to sign 4 top 35 draft prospects which is unheard of
 
Keller gets out of self created, bases loaded jam (2 walks and a single), without a run scored.
 
One thing that isn’t helping is we have a beer league softball manager turning in the lineup card. I get no one worth a damn wants to manage this team but this guy is especially bad

It is the international league only. It is the default settings on the menu.

It is cool BC was able to make hay with the largest bonus pool. Through his guidance we will get there again. And Shelton is his manager, btw.

My guy that worked with him for a few weeks last year mentioned that he didn't believe Endy wanted to be a Catcher. That really put a damper on My parade, but I think you got to really want to be a Catcher if you're going to do it as your main thing.

Yeah well…maybe if they keep going in this direction they’ll fire BC and we can start over. He can take his World Series ring and go somewhere else. Baseball fans outside of this city already laugh at us. I’m sure they’ll enjoy hearing us justify why it made sense to fire the GM because he couldn’t get enough 21 year olds through the minor league system over the all star break.
 
Just looked at the standings. Pirates still suck. Not making the drive or dropping cash to watch a bunch of cousin f***ers.
 
I wouldn’t mind dealing Quintana for Griff Mcgarry plus a more major league ready player. His control was a major issue at Virginia until the tournament and then he dominated. Electric fastball and slider.
 
Not even close. Newman thrown out easily. Chavis then singles. Would have scored Newman.

What exactly gives you confidence in Davis, Peguero and Gonzales are going to be impact players while Reynolds is still here? Surely not the results this year.
 
Nice play by Newman and stretch by Chavis.

EDIT: but watching that, makes me think, Cruz would have gotten to it a little sooner with that reach, wouldn't have had to jump throw, instead would have thrown a dart to 1st. And would have made it look it easy.

Not a fan of too many things Philly (Yards definitely!!!) But got to hand it to Phillies fans, they always travel well to PNC to see their team.
