I did think of him when I wrote my posts but he is a slot guy. And a GREAT weapon to have.Renfro? @Vegas07
"Winning" free agency is the kiss of death most times. It's the worst way to build a roster and every GM knows it. Guess this year they didn't have much choice with what they were left.Raiders sign LB Kyler Fackrell

I've seen ratings giving new Raiders regime getting high marks in free agency.
It hurts that picks busted in recent years. The team has done so poorly picking firsts that I’m not disappointed about losing those picks. To me it feels like they were going to be another bust anyway. I realize the people screwing up the picks are gone, but the people coming in don’t have a history of doing well with first round picks either.
And I’m shocked the team has an actual receiver now. Trying to fix that problem in the draft wasn’t likely to work. Some receivers take time to get going and the Raiders last receiver picks were Ruggs, Edwards and Lynn Bowden Jr. And that was in a draft loaded with talent at the position.
It is kind of like goalies in the NHL. If you have a great one like Vasilevsky, Hellybuck, etc. in their 20's, you can keep drafting Goalies in the mid rounds and hope they develop. If you have a true #1 WR, you can keep adding to that group, like the Steelers, and then let your top guys so over time if the kids develop, like they did with Wallace, AB, Juju.Greats are found in all rounds and don't really have a clear pattern to them. Kupp looked like a possession slot guy that didn't drop anything in lower level college, he's been so different and so good in the NFL. I just don't think you can spend first round capital on WRs and don't think you can give them big deals. Keep drafting guys and give them time to work into your system and you can get a lot of productive guys from deep in the draft. Same goes for TEs, there are always guys like Waller, Kelce or Kittle hanging around out there who in the right system are big weapons.
This is very reminiscent of McDaniels last go round as HC. I remember Peter King wrote an article about it as his second season was about to begin in Denver. He pointed out something like over 70% of the players on the 45 man roster were different than who was on the roster a year and a half earlier that finished up the last season before his hire. He made the point while a bad team needs some turnover, there was so much turnover that it was basically akin to an expansion team when you turn over that much and it could be a rough start until the team gels and plays up to potential. And sure enough that second year team was an utter disaster and got him fired.Raiders Cut Five Players, Sign OL Jermaine Eluemunor
The Las Vegas Raiders announced that they've signed OL Jermaine Eluemunor and cut five players including S Jordan Brown, DT P.J. Johnson, T William Sweet, S Natrell Jamerson and WR Javon Wims. Eluemunor, 27, wasnfltraderumors.co
Seems like more than half the team will be new
I don't think 3 years of college games is that much. Both Carr and Adams should be mature enough to not panic if wins and stats are behind those of a loaded AFC West. This year there are so many teams that have made big moves. It's going to be a great year for the NFL.The team did lose Cory Littleton so even if all these signings don’t work out at least that should be addition by subtraction.
Adams and Carr having so much experience playing together, and being much better, more experienced players gives me optimism they will do well together (well that and Adams being an elite receiver). The other signings are bigger question marks. The defense still needs to get better especially with every division opponent having a really good quarterback.
I disagree about wr and spending a first round pick on them. RB is the position that it's rare to spend a first on. Of course to be a wr worthy of a first there's things like size, ability to get open, route running and speed. Watch this year's draft. This is a loaded wr draft. THE NFL is a passing game and you can't just throw anyone out there even with the GOAT Tom Brady back there and he struggled when AB quit, Chris Godwin tore his ACL, and Mike Evans was banged up near the end of the season. Fan favorites Tyler Johnson and Scotty Miller barely did anything. I think you have to be 4 deep just in case someone from your top 3 we goes down.Greats are found in all rounds and don't really have a clear pattern to them. Tee Higgins is a high 2nd round draft pick (drafted 33rd). If he's productive he'll get a good contract from them. Cincy has to keep Chase and Higgins if they want to keep making deep playoff runs.It is kind of like goalies in the NHL. Raiders haven't developed a WR or have a true #1, so they went out and paid for a top one.
Heck, the Rams just swapped out Robinson for Woods.
But, if I'm a team like the Bengals, I don't give Tee Higgins a new deal once his rookie deal is up. I know that I have to pay Chase.
