Player Discussion Rafaël Harvey-Pinard

RHP reminds me a lot of Yanni Gourde. I remember Yanni in Victoriaville, the pucks was always stick to him. He was a hell of player. Small, but he wasnt playing small. RHP is playing the same way, the puck is always stick to him and with his efficient positionning, dman are making turnovers. Really fun to watch.
RHP is found money 💰, love that kid!!

seems like a good hockey player, I bet he would thrive if not surrounded by smurfs because he plays a hard game for a smaller player

Very happy for him. The new Paul Byron.
Also could be our own Marchessault.

Both from QC
Both 5'9
RHP popped off two years before Marchessault

He's a gem. Can play up and down the lineup. Hungry for the puck and has a smart offensive instinct. Actually reminds me of Gallaher too. Really good at scoring the garbage goals but he's got that Paul Byron vibe to him too with his shot and bfeakways

I'm really hoping he can be a surprise part of the future. I'm hoping for a similar type of game as Marchessault, but more Yanni gourde numbers, minus the 64 point season.

I agree with you and it would be nice to have some stability with 3rd and 4th line players. I know at his best he can belong to the 2nd line, I just mention 3rd and 4th line as a depth player in general, like Mcphee, Carbonneau and Skrudland were in the 80's. This team hasn't been able to build stability with the kind of coaches we had. That was a 'culture' problem. The fans have a "culture' problem too but that's another story. Watch this forum when RHP will have zero pts for 5 games in a row. Imagine the unnessary extra pressure a player can feel under these circonstances.

Yanni Gourde didn't have to play for the Montreal fans and medias.

Good mix between Marchand and Gallagher. Money in front of the net/tiping pucks, untireable on the forechek, gritty and team first player. Great on the PK too.

Love the chemestry with Suzy, I wanna see him tried with Caufied this season. Montreal own perfection line where size don't matter.

Players like RHP and Gourde will never have any problem with the MTL market with the way they play

All I effin' ask is RHP doesn't start the season on the fourth line. He deserves many chances to succeed at the highest level. Although less talented, he possesses 10 times the courage, drive and heart to play the game than others, and that is worth a lot in my eyes, and should be rewarded with ice-time and good linemates.

There is no universe in which Armia starts over RHP. Armia's value is not of significance anymore.

I'm hoping Joshua Roy becomes a home run and can play LW/RW on the Suzuki line with Caufield and completes them perfectly as a puck-possession beast with defensive awareness who can force turnovers, transition back to offense, make plays once in the O-zone and be a second sniping option that helps keep some attention away from Caufield.

If that comes true, RHP-Beck-Heineman might become an awesome third line down the road?

RHP's greatest asset to me was his ability to bring a spark to every line he played on. His coach loves him and always talked more about him taking care of the team than the production he was enjoying. His style of play won't be open to criticism from the discerning.

I think RHP will start on fourth line. Likely with Gallagher and Evans.

He's kind of player you can move him up in lineup though. Could see time high as second line

At least RHP can look good on the fourth line, or anywhere else in the lineup. He'll make whoever he plays with better. Less damage if he gets plugged wrong than someone like Caufield or Mesar.
