Player Discussion Rafaël Harvey-Pinard

Yeah so exciting watching a goalie stopping pucks lol. For sure worth the 300$ admission.

No disrespect to Price but you know what I meant by my post.
Well you didn't say exciting, and frankly a good goalie duel can be exciting. But fine what about some of Subban's seasons? He was more exciting then stat watching forward point totals and pretending that equates to being worth admission.

You don't think it's entertaining watching a goaltender excel?

What a weird take.

I thought he was quite noticeable to be honest. It was a 96 point team which I think is still an NHL record for most points without making the playoffs. I do know it was tied for the record at the time which was also set by another Julien team coincidentally.

So I wouldn't necessarily qualify them as a losing team in that particular season anyways.

Considering they were 44-30-8, I Donn't how anybody, under any metric, could call that a losing season.

Im a big fan of Price but no I don't think its entertaining watching a goalie bail out a subpar team for a decade. To each their own, Knowing our team had no chance all those years regardless of how well Price plays did not really do much for me unfortunately.

Sure its fun for a season or two but a decade? I'm good

I am a French Canadian and from Québec city area (Thetford) but I am so tired of the French medias beging for Québécois on the team all the time...but....

Jeez that I love Harvey Pinard's personnality.

The first time I listened an Interview from him couple years ago ..I was sold on the kid.

A.good kid from Saguenay and people up there with their accent and joie de vivre...I love them so.much

I am sure that he brings joy in the dressing room.

So I find it interesting that his comparable for so long is gallagher, but he's proving to be very different IMO, much more quick (even vs young gallagher) and he doesn't have the underrated power of gally's game. That being said, he looks effective out there.

Yeah Gallagher could really drive the puck to the net, out of the blue. That was his way of driving play, creating something out of nothing. RHP can't do that. But I like his offensive IQ.

he's got a good IQ to be a garbage man. He'll probably still get compared to gally because of that but he wont have to take the beating gally did to get them. He'll be sneakier I think

Having RHP playing NHL calibre level means we don't have to rush Heineman or Roy if one of them is not ready yet.

We should extend him for two years, so that if somehow Harvey-Pinard does not have 80 games played by the end of next year (say for injury reasons), we do not lose him to Group 6 free agency.

RHP is a complete player, that's the key with him. He will not put one point per game on a full season, but even when he will have an offensive slump he will contribute in other ways. His effort is always 100%, his positionning and defensive awareness are great, and offensively he has real skills. He is not just a garbage goal scorer.

Bottom line here, we want a winning team again, whether players are from US, Sweden or Canada..........the team needs to be a player in the league again..................if we find a couple of Que born players, that's awesome!!
These kids need to earn their spots, no more pansies like you know who, and give them money and term and ice time they did NOT earn.
Winning trumps it all and it's that simple.
