I was born in 84, 6 weeks after they lost to Edmonton and my dad used to joke with me that i was the curse of the isles because he saw them win it and in the building for the first and last cup win. He passed last July a few days after my birthday and i knew that would probably be my last chance to actually see a cup with him alive, it is truly to me the worst loss ever. I hope to see it eventually before i am too old but it won't happen with this core.

The Canes are a soft team, one of the softest in the league. Yet in 2 games we were dominated....Out hit, we looked like a bunch of p***yes compared to the BIG BAD CANES..

You do have some dummies here. I can't believe the regression of Dobson in the D zone. During the time everyone was injured he really looked like he turned the corner. He is like a giant Aho. And again screw Pelech .

I’m sorry for your loss. I was born in 90 similar feelings. My parents lived the glory years. We’re a hockey family. Mom passed away in August 2021. I think about all the time. My brother passed in 2015. He didn’t even get to see the Trotz isles. Hope we get to see a cup. That’s all I want lol

Lou fell in love with this team after the 2 runs to ECF and gave out long term contracts with no movement clauses like they were after dinner mints. We have too many guys that can't be moved. He never paid anyone with the Devils and he turns into a walking ATM here..... I love this franchise, have since the mid 70's but they make it hard year after year. Ideally Martin, Clutterbuck, Lee, Engvall, Palmieri would be moved or let walk.
