Didn't realize Nelson was playing tonight until the empty netter.

Screw Pelech and Dobson. So physically weak. Canes hit Pulock every chance they got. Only right side D man of consequence we have. Bortuzzo going down gave Varly little chance on that goal. Pelech picking up his stick on goal three and Dobson getting out muscled on goal four.

Holmstrom. Why second line? He couldn't handle it at all.

Sitting back with a 3-0 lead. Good plan.

JGP lost every face off on the PP on the right side.
JGP is an interesting case. Has great FO stats, and yet we seem to lose all the important ones.

Maybe by the time Game 3 starts someone will figure out that flicking the puck off the glass and soft putzing around with the puck in the D zone hasn't worked against Carolina in years.

This team cannot play with a lead

Also STOP TRYING TO CLEAR THE PUCK UP THE BOARDS YOU f***ING MORONS

How many times do you need to have it intercepted before you get it through your Neanderthal brains that it’s not going to work

Horvat and Palmieri were the only two of the top six to show up at all. Everyone else was MIA again. MacLean was the best forward for the team tonight.

Dobson is too soft, Pelech is a mess, not much else to say.
Pelech's a walking catastrophe. He lost his stick, picked it up and while desoriented looking around the Canes scored 3-3. Just an example for the bad night he had

We have to be realists. They are just a better team than the Isles. It’s obvious. Even up 3-0 and 3-1, the Canes were outplaying the Isles by a wide margin. Anyone who didn’t see what happened in the 3rd period coming, hasn’t watched an Islander’s game in 2023-24. I think this happened 20+ times in the regular season.

There’s no shame in admitting they are better, it’s just a fact. It was fun sneaking into the playoffs, but we’ve snuck in with 2 days or 1 day left the last two seasons. Our Isles are an average team that can’t beat good teams. Facts are facts.

There needs to be major changes in the offseason that gets this team back to ECF caliber instead of an average team that JUST makes the playoffs. Can’t be just a status quo, needs to be major changes.

Varmolove was not good in the 3rd period. He went down on shots too many times early, maybe he is tired played too many games down the stretch. Some of the forwards are not skating and got rid puck too fast in the opposition zone - Barzy and Nelson both need to bring up their A game and it does look like Dobson may not be 100%, as his game was much better earlier in the season. Most of all, the team did not have the killing instinct, they let the Canes come back by stopping doing the hard work in corners and board after the three goals lead.

This one is pretty devastating, they didn’t deserve as they were throughly outplayed but to lose it like that up 3-0 just not sure you recover from that.
Agree ------ can not lose this game --- doesnt matter how they made it 3-0

If I see another NYI team, without enough talent, to sit on a lead; well, I'm going to complain. Why need to edit, I complained.

If you call that out, you're my NYI brethren, let it go.

I watched the 90's, I watched every single game. I cannot tell you how much I want an NYI win.

You may hate me, or love me, but when it comes to NYI passion, there's no question.

I have thought about this team, more than you know. I have been loving them since '92.

Edit: I have NYI memorabilia littered across my car, residence, but in my heart.

There is nothing the Isles can do that will get this core into a serious contender, you can tweak to keep them fighting for an 8th seed the next few years, this team has to have a complete FN rebuild, everyone outside of Dobson has to be for sale and the sooner the fans and management realize this the better the franchise will be

You go home. You change your goalie. You get the crowd behind you.

This is playoff hockey man, no babies allowed. They either sack up or we golf. Got two days to stew over this.

We've been 6 feet under 4 times this year and they've pulled something out of it.
Your not wrong but i just don’t see how you recover from that, you can chalk it up to just awful passive play after 3-0 lead and not deserving to win but honestly it more likely they get swept then win this series.

We made it and played well down the stretch admirable. But this team isn’t talented or hungry enough to win in the playoffs anymore. Changes are needed.

I’ve been saying it all year. Move the guys on the wrong side of 30 and get more skilled and younger.
