Guy is legit reminding me of Lidstrom right now with the way he controls the play whenever he is on the ice. Makes a few more gaffes than him, but the smoothness/effortlessness of transition game and puck possession is there.

Not to mention that he's a bit more daring offensively.

Was he leading the league in scoring? Was he a plus 18?

If you're using plus/minus to weigh in on a dman, you're not allowed to talk to me. Also has nothing to do with the context of which I was responding to so go take your bias elsewhere. I only like conversing with objective fans (or funny ones).

Karlsson has never even led his team in +/-
Oh I'm sure he has. 2010 and 2017.

I assume you mean 2012.
He may have led in October at like +6 after 8 games, but I don't think Karlsson has ever led his team in +/- after November 15th. Maybe weird trivia but I'd be curious to know if there has been a time.
And I'm also not saying that +/- is the greatest statistic in the world, but he is leading the league, and where there is smoke there is fire for Quinn - his 5 on 5 numbers this year are out of control.

I said what I said :)

We never established leading in which direction :D

(also not denying QH's 5v5 so there is no reason to contest my statement for it, I would just never use plus minus since we have other far more useful metrics to gauge that kind of performance. The reference for my statement was a scoring one made by another poster of whether or not another dman had scored that much in the same time frame but then I got assaulted by a white knight).

Reading this thread starting at 2019 is great! Everyone gets a pass because who knew he was going to be this silky

I might be the only one who doesn't compare Hughes against Makar. I like to compare within draft year so for me it's Dahlin vs Hughes and Heiskanen vs Makar.

But who's better, him, Pettersson or Demko?

Hughes is currently the best Canuck overall, Petey has been great but not 100% healthy. Miller has likely been our best forward overall, he’s just a beast at both ends of the ice this year.

Healthy Pettersson is up there with Hughes though. But what Quinn is doing this year on and off the score sheet is impressive as hell.

It's funny. If he was a few inches taller, he would never get this label.
Hockey fans in general have really weird complexes about short(er) men. Hughes being 4 Inches taller wouldn’t make a difference really — his game isn’t molded on being big. Quinn in general has shown a lot more toughness than his taller teammates.

This guy's a real beauty. Norris winner if ending season today without question. Will this continue the entire year? Will see, but he looks like the real deal to me. So I wouldn't be surprised if he does
