Quinn Hughes Mega thread: Top in points, Norris consideration, MVP and Canucks fans hearts

Hughes has been awesome but it’s been 12 games. He has had 12 points recently against SJ (5) Edmonton (4) and Nashville (3) feasting on teams giving up goals. He’s gone pointless aganst the stronger Dallas, NYR, TB and Philly games so far. Point being, it’s been 12 games.
Who cares when they shut them out? How can possibly be construed as a black mark against a defenceman? He was great against NYR too.

I think there is a take-down of Lidstrom where they key in on a -4 game he had against he Sharks in like 1997 or something, and I was literally just thinking about that the other day.
Now I gotta find it.
edit: naturally it was the same channel, two clicks away

It was always always something with Hughes, and he always improved in that specific criticism

-first it was he's a Powerplay Merchant
(he's 1st in even strength scoring amongst defense, and was 5th last year)
-dont forget the plus minus argument
(first in plus minus, and been a positive plus minus the last 3 seasons)
- "He doesnt score goals"
(he's first in goals amongst defense)

I dont even care if he wins the norris

it has to do with these IDIOTS on the east coast who have downplayed his play for so long, like those NHL scouts quoted in the athletic who said he is the same player as when he entered the league and hasn't improved.
Those idiots at athletic have less knowledge than my mom regarding hockey because my mom knows Hughes is good while athletic has Hughes as a tier 3B dman while he is leading the NHL defenseman in points, goals and assists. They need to fire the morons at that publication because even his play from last year was highered than what they ranked him before the start of the seasons, nvm talking it about it now lol

its an entire East Coast thing, yall heard it here first!!

if only there was a Hughes or two out East to showcase the Hughes' families talents...

Quinn Hughes:

Broke both the Oilers and Dom Luszczyszyn's model before the season was 15% done.

May have even caused an existential crisis for The Athletic as well.

He's just that good.

Look at the way he skates for people that don’t see him often

He is so much fun to watch play hockey. He has been flat out dominant so far this year.

I just hope that at a certain point people are just stoked that this is a crazy era of talented young Dmen. At any point any of 5 or 6 D could be the best, don't worry about it, just enjoy it.

For me, the biggest satisfaction is just thinking back on how hard some us had to educate the non-believers over the years, the uphill battle against those that blindly only see him as this smurf with a Barrie ceiling, and then watching the guy completely beasting out the way we only hoped he would today. Told you so.

I thought the captaincy in a canadian market would weigh him down, but instead it buoyed his game to insane heights. 13 games in, hes a shoo-in for the Norris.

That's impressive. Could be a very historic season for him if he manage to keep anything close to this through the season.
