Feeling a resounding W for Canada followed by easy run to Gold. Too much talent and I think Finland game was wake up call.

They should be able to get to Gold, but I don't believe it will be easy. Russia has a lot of talent on their team, and they're actually playing with chemistry - something they don't often do.

Sweden has become the new Canada of the WCs where players don't accept the invitation.

Quite frankly I don't know all the players on our team. :help:

It is not Mårds fault. Just lazy as players, Bäckström didn't even give a reason, fat *******.

WTF is that projected lineup for Canada? that can't be right, cmon now.

It's not. The guy making the threads has been moving McDavid down the lineup as the tournament has gone on for some reason. Maybe as a joke.

They should throw the lines in a blender, things clearly aren't clicking.

I'm probably among the biggest McDavid fans here, and I got no problem with him as the extra forward. He hasn't played nearly to a fraction of his potential and he hasn't shown the European audience what we've seen from him throughout his entire career in North America. Something like being the extra forward might be good for him.

Canada has their backs completely against the wall. The odds are stacked against them and it is do or die for them. The only thing that gives me hope is we have seen a Canadian team on Russian soil with their backs against the wall in a dire situation before. Maybe we can channel some of that history and come out playing like our lives depend on it.

No, "the guy" making the thread (eg me) is using the last game's lineup that was posted on the IIHF. Until a confirmed lineup comes out tomorrow that's the best we can do. Sorry guys.

Surprised at the number of people picking Canada. The defense is weak and the goaltending is suspect.

Canada is defending champion but last years team was really stacked. This year's team is just average at best.

Canada takes this.

Neither of you have good goaltending situation,
but Talbot beats Markström and so does canadian
forwards.

Honestly though,before the tournament i didn't think
Sweden would get this far,so gotta give :handclap:
getting this far.

goal scorers; Hallx2,McDavid,Matheson,Cici.

I just hope we play good hockey. We have nothing to lose at this point, Canada has been humiliated. Many people took great joy in seeing us beaten and getting the chance to mock and disrespect the Maple Leaf.

Hopefully putting on the Maple Leaf and playing for Canada in a foreign land means something to these guys. It's do or die time now for the Canadians on Russian soil. There's something special about this being in Russia with our shared hockey history together. Hoping and praying for the best.

Our backs are against the wall and the hockey world is cheering against us. If we play the Canadian way with speed, skill, and discipline I'll be happy no matter what happens.

.

Unfortunately I see the other way around.

When Canada wins, we are number 1, the best, no countries can beat us. take that! eat this!
When Canada loses, oh not our best players, stupid tournament nobody cares.

:shakehead

becuse the swedish team is even worse.

our defense and offense is way worse than ours.

And our coach sucks.

Our goaltending is better thought.

I expect the Russian crowd to be cheering for Canada.

I'm just hoping for a good and exciting game. That Tre Kronor can hold their heads up high after this one.

I expect the Russian crowd to be cheering for Canada.

Really? Why do you say that?

I mean, I would welcome the Russian crowd to cheer us on. Just curious why they would.

I guess CA-NA-DA is a close enough chant to RUS-EE-YA if you think about it.

The bigger and louder crowd the better, I hope the stadium is packed and loud. The games in Moscow have a way better atmosphere than the St. Petersburg games so far.

CA-NA-DA!!

I think most countries have realized that about the IIHF WHC. Sweden had the same number of declines this year as we typically do. I think the reality is setting in for fans across the pond that IIHF WHC is not true best-on-best. Nothing wrong with that, it's a good event and very good hockey. Let's just enjoy it.

In a best-on-best event like the Olympics, Sweden is probably 1a and 1b with Canada. Sweden has an outstanding generation of D men, just like Canada. Our D set both countries apart from other nations in best-on-best.

If we lose, we have no excuse. May the best team win, no matter what win or lose, I'm going to show respect to the Swedish team and fans when the game is done.

I, for one, and a lot of my friends want to see a RUS-CAN final, so

Oh, and it's ROSSIYA :)

I'm trying to catch on to the chant still. I've enjoyed seeing the passion of the Moscow crowd. I even find myself chanting ROSSIYA when I watch you play . Reminds me of "Go Canada Go".

I've watched every Team Russia game. Your crowds are amazing, you can tell it motivates the Russian players, they look like they are flying out there. I just hope Canada gets a chance to play in Moscow. I don't know at this point if we will make it past Sweden.

Hopefully the St. Petersburg crowd comes out loud and gets the building rocking.
