Really, what is the matter with Sweden? Im watching the other qf instead, at least that is closer scorewise, this one is a massacre! How can this one be so one-sided??

Why can't there be player incompatibility without blame? Players like Hall and Duchene do not completely mesh with McDavid because they want the puck too much. McDavid is most effective when he gets the puck with speed and then hits an open team mate as the defense over-commits because they get caught flat-footed. Players who drive the net, find space, and have good one-timers work the best with McDavid.

Please try

Marchand-McDavid-Perry
Hall-Duchene-Stone

Just get McDavid and Duchene away from each other. Duchene is incapable of using his linemates effectively or cycling the puck. He's a pure rush player who willingly looks off his linemates to be "the guy".

I thought the USA would be embarrassed this tournament, but looks like it's going to be Sweden.

Maybe next time their players will actually accept invitations

Duchene and McDavid are both doing good work, but it's not connecting

They both need the puck. They should not be on the same line.

I'd like to see Schiefele switch with Duchene. Duchene plays centre and can carry his own line.

Schiefele while good at centre, can play wing and is an excellent trigger man.

Duchene's a terrific player, and there's a reason he was named to Canada's Sochi team, but I agree with the Oilers fans in that he hasn't been a great fit with McDavid.

I think they should try giving McD a more natural winger like Gallagher/Marchand, or even Domi.

That said they should be able to produce, too much talent not to.

So he's lucky when he makes a good save? Alright.

When ur outa position leaving a mostly open net and make a great reflex save with ur arm it's lucky + good...BUT better to look quieter/ more in control in goal...being more positionally sound...making even tough saves look easy, controling ur rebounds better yadda, yadda ...

Sweden, unlike Suomi or say Russia, haven't been able to exploit some of Talbot's imperfections...albeit not that many this game, after looking somewhat nervous/ discombobulated early on...Flaws which we saw last game in spades

Mcdavid and Duchene play very similarly. They both like picking up speed off the rush, entering the zone and either dish it or take it to the net.
It's difficult to have two players on one line who are used to having the puck on their stick a lot.

Exactly, its not fair to say Duchene is dragging McDavid down, but there is clearly no chemistry there. Those two players should not be playing together.

He had one bad game, so did the rest of the team. Get over it.

why on earth would you break up Scheifele and Stone who have been so good together?

Nice to see the priorities aren't ****ed up fellow Canadians??? :sarcasm:

Honestly I thought we were getting blown out based on the pillow fights.

:baghead:

It would help balance the lineup IMO.

Honestly there are a bunch of combinations you could go with. I love Scheifele's game and could see him playing in the top 6 RW spot too, or Stone, or Perry.

Canada NEEDS their best players going and right now it's evident there is no chemistry on that line.

Marchand-McDavid-Scheifele
Hall-Duchene-Perry
Domi-O'Reilly-Stone
Jenner-Brassard-Gallagher
Reinhart

The Tanev--Reilly pairing are lightyears better than the rest of the D-Pairings on team Canada.

Just so solid.

Benning is such a Terrible GM Toronto could probably get him cheap.
People finally noticing how good tanev is
