Oh well, I don't think U.,S fans can be too down, I think you got about as much out of these guys as you could. It was a shootout loss, you didn't even lose in regulation REAL hockey.
The shootout sucks...............they should just keep playing the regular overtime setup until someone scores, we all know this.

I'm trying to not cry. The Olympics are the Olympics, I don't care that NHL players aren't there. This is an emotional loss. Congratulations Czech Republic though, you earned it. Now go kick some ass in the semifinal.

Poor selections in the shootout, especially the order they went. Poor coaching at times, especially not taking a timeout before the 2nd goal after three consecutive icing. USA gave them way too much space early in the game and couldn't finish after getting a shorty.
Zapolski should get a round of applause. He hung in there and gave us a chance. I had never watched him play or even heard of him before this tournament but I thought he did well. It was always going to be an uphill battle the further we went but this sucked to lose in a shootout.

Maybe I’m in the minority but I’ve had a tough time feeling any excitement for the tournament. The games I’ve been able to watch have had no energy and are not very entertaining...the whole tournament has felt lackluster imo.
