That theory falls apart entirely when the refs miss even one call. It just leads to frustration and more penalties. As much as I hate it, you do need game management from referees.

In this particular game I think the refs have done a solid job. The Russians have been way more disciplined than the Americans. Idk if they Americans thought they could get away with some stuff because its an elimination game, but they played stupid hockey for a period and a half.

I guess I'm in the minority when it comes to thinking that the refs have done a good job today. I hate NHL reffing because its all circumstantial. I don't care if you've already called 99 penalties on one team, if a player breaks the rule, call that team again.

You're not. Team USA hasn't fully grasped that they are a team and that there are other open teammates in their offensive zone (for example) and try to do everything themselves with hogging the puck, taking low percentage shots from bad bad angles. The U.S. deserves the outcome of the game so far.

They are refs, not babysitters.
You're frustrated, well handle it kid you're a hockey player.

The only people complaining about the refs are the Americans. Apparently in the USA high sticking and goalie interference aren't penalties. Who knew???

Actually, not all Americans are complaining. Many of us have said they've been calling things fair.

Also, EVERY penalty has been disagreed with by BOTH sides.

Canada whining about Americans whining. I guess there has never been one Canadian in the history Canada's sport that has ever complained about a penalty call.

Too much individual play by the US.

Russia on the other hand is playing so conservatively. Complete 180 from past Russian teams.

Question for team USA followers - why didn't Cole Cassels make the team? He's got 40 points in 24 GP in the CHL and he is an older player as well. I've seen him play a few times and to me he seems like he would be a lot more effective than a handful of guys on this US squad.

now people complaining about other people complaining, about other people complaining about penalties.

I don't mind them, but I really can't stand the people who complain about people complaining about other people complaining about other people complaining about penalties.

I think you've misinterpreted what I meant by game management. It is to ensure a good flow of play and control rather than what we're seeing now.

High sticks are stupid and obvious as is running over the goalie in his crease.

I don't know what to tell you.

I figure the U.S. will pull this out, for what it's worth.

The majority of calls against us have been legit. I have a problem with one or two. My bigger issue is everything not being called the other way.
