Seemed like in the USA-Canada game, they really let them play. Then in your next game, they call every little infraction it seems (fairly or unfairly, up to you to judge).

The slash was a weak one but otherwise they just take stupid penaltys. It wasnt always a penalty you have to call but they made it obvious that they would call stuff like this early in the game and you should be able to adapt and not swing your stick around the whole time.

I guess I'm in the minority when it comes to thinking that the refs have done a good job today. I hate NHL reffing because its all circumstantial. I don't care if you've already called 99 penalties on one team, if a player breaks the rule, call that team again.

That theory falls apart entirely when the refs miss even one call. It just leads to frustration and more penalties. As much as I hate it, you do need game management from referees.

They have done a decent job. Too many homers, and others who don't want to see players accountable for their actions and would rather blame the refs for their own lack of enjoyment of the game.
