How many times to we have to be screwed by horse crap officiating at a IIHF event before Canada just says ef them and leaves?

What is the IIHF going to do hold their tournaments in front of 200 people with $500 worth of sponsorship money.

Finland did nothing to win this game but wait on the BS officiating they have relied on all tournament long and of course the crappy IIHF refs obliged.

This Canadian team had issues for sure but the garbage calls were the reason they lost today not their play and certainly not the play of a awful Finnish team.

Yikes.

The Marner bashing is a bit over the top. That was a monster third period. Was pretty much the reason we were even still in the game by the time he took the penalty.

Marner almost won the game by himself

Too bad he had to carry the rest of those slugs

Marner was fantastic in the 3rd after he was a ghost for the first two periods. Virtanen was the opposite great in the first two periods and absolutely awful in the third. Marner was great in the 3rd but his play throughout this tournament was nowhere close to the level he played in the third.

Barzal getting named 3rd star is funny since the coach hardly played him. Not sure who picked the stars but that might be a shot at Lowry who continued to ride the few instead of the many. Funny thing about today is in the first period he was rolling four lines quick shifts and we were great. He starts to waiver and play his key guys for longer shifts and we start losing handle of the game. Fins are fun to watch good for them. Those two kids are definitely the future of Finnish hockey unreal!

Canada didn't deserve a chance at a medal based on how they played overall in the tourney.

Exciting game and they played with all heart ... But their weaknesses were very much exposed.

Great experience for guys like Strome and Marner though - they should be even better next year.

Great game, whatever Eberle does for his career he will be remembered for this WJC in 09,10 by Canadians.

From now on, whatever Virtanen does for the rest of his career nothing will ever negate that he cost us a game and tournament.

I'm sure Marc Andre Fleury really cares now as well

Congrats, Finland. That top line is incredible.

Horrible tournament for Canada; blame the refs all you wants kids, you did this to yourselves.

I hope someone buys Virtanen's groceries and does his laundry, cause he just doesn't have the mental capacity for tasks like that.

Blackwood was pretty darn mediocre. Rather than ban Euro goalies from the CHL, maybe we should develop our own goalies and let them compete with the worlds best? Maybe invite more than 3 goalies to camp and allow some competition? Just a thought

Why, because the average TML fan is more intelligent than the average Oiler fan? I know, it's hilarious! Marner was the only reason it was close in the end. Consistently the best defensive forward and turned it up when it counted. It's not his fault that his line mates are literally black holes for possession. He did something every time he had the puck. But you can wear your homer glasses. It's not like you guys are going to win anything with that defence.

Best post of the tournament definitely goes to this guy. Keep it up.:handclap: :handclap:

Virtanen's 2 penalties cost us the game and then Marner negated a PP that would have been crucial late with an unnecessary punch.

Learn to watch the game without rose coloured glasses.

That was a punch? More like a lovetap. But considering over half of your comments in these GDT's were just ragging on Marner, I'm not really surprised here. Without him we lose 6-3.

I dont remember seeing Finland having a defence and goaltending this bad? Were lucky to have the best offense though. Hope we can continue outshooting the opponents...

Sarcasm?

If I had to wish one player to never succeed in the NHL, it will forever be Jake Virtanen. Just a horrible hockey player. Enjoy the Swedish Elite League in 5 years.

And you should start working on saying "would you like to large size that meal?" Wishing things on kids that may not have played the best but gave their all. Good grief. You and a lot of others should be ashamed.

Good think the players aren't supposed to check twitter, more specifically for Virtanen.
