Look, no doubt he made two huge plays to keep them in it..but then he pretty much dashed that chance so..

doesn't matter, nerves take over and these guys are young. Marner gave them a chance, if a team Canada relies on the PP that much anyways, they don't deserve to medal. Sure it was stupid, but the guy almost had a hat trick.

Honestly this loss wasn't on Lowry. Blackwood didn't show up and our undisciplined play killed us. 5 on 5 we outplayed Finland significantly.

What?? Blackwood should have been pulled which is a coaching decision. Virtanen should have been benched. TO's should have been called to clam the team down when the wheels started coming off. It is completely on him.

You guys can't dominate every year. This year USA Sweden and Finland are just better. That's it. You guys will probably win gold next year. Relax.

Actually, if Virtanen hadn't taken the double penalty, the 5 on 3 goal wouldn't have happened, and the game probably would have went to OT. He at least partly cost us the game.

How many times to we have to be screwed by horse crap officiating at a IIHF event before Canada just says ef them and leaves?

What is the IIHF going to do hold their tournaments in front of 200 people with $500 worth of sponsorship money.

Finland did nothing to win this game but wait on the BS officiating they have relied on all tournament long and of course the crappy IIHF refs obliged.

This Canadian team had issues for sure but the garbage calls were the reason they lost today not their play and certainly not the play of a awful Finnish team.

Virtannen deserves the criticism, marner was playing great in the third and got a lot mote than he gave. Perhaps he should have embellished as well, amirite?

They are young kids, and played what amounted to a great game to watch. Blackwood letting in one softie and one he should never get passed him didnt help much either.

Right up there with 98 and when spott coached. One of worst picked teams and managed bench in canada junior tournys. in my opinion, lowry + virtanen were the biggest reasons for this terrible showing. Embarassing year

I agree. This is the worse than 1998. This team was the most pathetic Team Canada i seen in my lifetime. Have been following this tournament since 1993.

No, see the team Canada sent to North Dakota in 2005. 35 goals in five games and 42 in the six they played.

Marner's pentalty wasn't even bad, the other player kept punching him in the face, but since he retaliated, he got called and the other player didn't?
