For those who can watch the game who are in your opinion the best players for Finland and Canada so far?

For Finland, I'd say Juolevi and maybe Aho. Their Forwards have been ok, but the rest of their D has been pretty bad.

For Canada, I'd say Virtanen, Strome, Dermott, Konecky, followed by maybe Chabot and McKeown. Strome has been the best forward and Dermott the best D IMO.

Finland pulled their goalie when he let in 3 goals on 10 shots - Blackwood has allowed 3 on 10 as well...

I have to be honest with myself lol....I'm not fooling myself, I didn't say he won't be out there, I said he doesn't deserve to be out there. I'm pretty sure he will be because Lowry is a dumbass.

Hey, I agree with you100%. All things considered we have better options at RW with Strome than Virtanen. Lowry is going to play Virtanen though, and play him a lot.

No matter who wins, I love this finnish team just for the excitement. Defense sucks and offense rocks, fun but scary.

I don't know a lot about Point, but I don't see the appeal. I don't know why he's on the team, let alone the captain...

I like how Lowry goes nuts on adjusting lines in the first 2 games .. And then stops even though nothing is really working

I would like to know why all Finns are battering so heavily on Virtanen, what did he so wrong?

The biggest disappointment for me so far are Point and Marner in this game. They are supposed to be Canada best forward with Strome but they are completely invisible this game and look like they're not even trying. I mean it's easy to bash on players who took bad penalties but at least they are trying to generate something not like Point and Marner who are just soft all the way.

Point has been invisible the entire tournament. Marner has been noticeable every game even though he has two blackholes on his line...

Why blackholes? Because they suck, the play slows down and eventually dies when the puck is near them.

He will be no where near Bertuzzi.

Bertuzzi was a smart player.

Jake is all physical talent.

Bertuzzi smart ?? What did I just read. He was just as frustrating as Jake. He used to take the Canucks off of powerplays more than anyone I can remember.

I am really confused. First, I am not a fan of Virtanen!!! Hated the pick.

However, the team goes up 2-0, doesn't get a shot on net for 10 minutes and Finland ties the game, Virtanen single handle changes the game and momentum with a coup old of dominant shifts, creates a goal to CHANGE the momentum back for Canada. He was creating havoc and put us on the power play, then he makes a mistake that cost the team NOTHING- as Canada continues its Power Play that HE created with his forechecking. Nothing happens. Finland changed their goalie after Virtanen created the third goal and the Golaie makes 14 straight saves. Canada gives up another BAD goal by our goalie, heads go down, we lose our momentum, and somehow, the momentum that virtanen created is his fault that we no longer have???? And then two more dumb penalties.

In my view, the stupid giveaway with 11 seconds left in the first period made this a hockey game, scared Canada, gave hope to Finland, and then Finland was running over us until Virtanen changed the games with a couple of very very strong shifts, including the one that actually turned the momentum back to us by giving us the go ahead goal and then another shift where we almost score and cause a penalty.

How does his totally stupid but totally harmless penalty have anything to do with the game changing?

It went from a 5 on 3 to a 4 on 4.

Finland scored soon afterwards.

Rantanen, Kapanen, Hintz and Vehviläinen have been a great disappointment so far. The secondary scoring line of youngsters Laine- Aho - Puljujärvi has, however, shown example and taken the key role in offense. Puljujärvi is great, but I never expected that Aho could be so good in this tournament.

Although Finland´s scoring has been effective, defense is worst in many years. That is the Achilles´heel of the team. A bad goaltending is not helping that. I can´t even remember when Team Finland has had a goaltending problem?
