USA outshoots the Slovaks 43-16. Slovak goalie stands on his head. Announcers think this will be a "wakeup call" for the USA because they haven't played very well. Lol......

The score was flattering. USA dominated this game.
Yes they need to play better against Finland, this was team USA's "B" or "C" game in my book

For as much love as Berniers/Boldy get. The second line hasn’t produced 5on5 for over 2 games now. 3rd line has been huge tonite saved ass of US top lines lack of production.

I’m not sure the US can keep advancing without the second line.
this is true, it has not been good enough i'd like to see some players moved around

They have room to improve.

Sure. But this really wasn't a close game. Broken play and bad puck luck on the first goal.

The USA took some crap penalties. Outside of that? This game went about as expected. You could clearly see when the USA was turning it up a notch. The Slovaks had no answer.

Finns should be fun.

Nemec is a stud for Slovakia. Not even available until the 2022 draft.

He’s a guy to follow, definitely looks like a 1st round talent to me. Big, good skater, good first pass and decision making, right shot D man. Checks a lot of boxes.

Not really, the US had multiple breakaways and the ice was slanted for about 80% of the game. Slovakia capitalized on their only real chances and made a solid push for about 5 minutes.
Right. Slovakia finished the few chances they had. The US missed on far too many scoring chances. With a little better scoring touch they will beat Finland and it will have to improve to beat Russia/Canada.

i was shocked to find out how young he was. Impressive for sure.

Looked like a 19 year old out there with his puck poise and breakout abilities. Not to mention again the size, physicality, and being a right shot on top of it is a pretty impressive package to watch.

He was good in group play too, not just a one off game. The hype train for him should be starting.
