Thanks to all swedes for keeping it civil. If I was in your shoes I'd be fuming.

For instance, how on earth can Söderström be so invisible and ineffective all game? Last year he played awesome like Heinola this year and now total apathy. Something just isn't right for you guys and it can't be all coaching.

The Finnish team has an undrafted goalie, they only have 3-4 forwards and 2-3 defensemen who have contributed anything this tournament. There's no reason Sweden shouldn't have won. They got outplayed by a less talented team. Thats not to say this Swedish team is good, but neither is Finland.

Yeah, don't think these are the best teams we've seen from these countries. Feels like the difference this time was that the leading Finnish players were much better. Lundell was better than Raymond and Holtz, by quite a lot. Niemelä and Heinola were better than all the Swedish D´s. The biggest difference tonight.

This is probably the closest QF game on paper. If Finland wants to win this one, pucks need to go in the net. Hirvonen is near the top of the tournament in shots taken, with no goals. If that doesn't change, Finland loses. If Hirvonen puts pucks in the net, Finland wins.

and so it was.

Wth did we get bronze last year? Against Finland? Ok then we deserved this loss.

My GG's to Swedes aswell. First getting unlucky with this covid situation and then losing like this..

It was clear that this very talented group lacked leadership, that one player who gives hand to the others and say that grab this and let me lead you. Or coach who get's his locker room 100% behind him and his ideas.

Rough ending for Sweden. I bet the idea of losing that 54 game streak or whatever it was really got in their heads, only way I can explain losing 3 in a row to end the tournament. They looked absolutely lifeless against Finland.

I thought Raymond was good in this game, and the tournament. Holtz, I agree. He had a disappointing tournament, along with players like Broberg and Soderstrom. Although, Broberg was clearly playing injured, and even the ones that weren't are being judged on a very small sample. I tend to think people exaggerate a lot with assessing prospects at this tournament.

The Finn's are getting big contributions from their best players such as Lundell, Heinola, Niemela, Lambert, Hirvonen. And even the goalie Piiroinen has had a pretty decent tournament for a guy with no hype. I think they need to do a better job of finding some cohesion in their lines because if the top players have a bad game in the next two, thats game over, and they will not win. They need some secondary contributions.

As was Heinola in this game. Still played great and was even the official man of the match for Finland.
Did you not see the TSN (replay of the Swedish TV) post game interview if Broberg? That kid clearly loves his team, as evidenced by the tears streaming down his cheeks. He gave it everything. Losing builds character.

Phew what a game.
But i have to admit that i was wrong again.
I truly thought that Sweden will dominate this game and they took 0-2 lead in 1st period.

2nd period was Finland's and Sweden started scare to lose the game.
I don't know was that Finland's disallowed goal really an offside because
all the camera angles what Finland's TV5 had the quality of the camera reviews was quite blurry.
But referees decision is the law in hockey and that's it.

3rd period was Finland's again
even Sweden had their scoring chances actually quite couple good chances.

But Piiroinen was once again very good in our net
and he gave more confidence to whole Finnish team with his saves.

Lundell showed once again how good leader he can be.
And that 2-2 goal was absolutely nice Florida Panthers is getting very good player in Anton.

Was about a damn time for Roni Hirvonen to score finally.
And what the best his 1st goal in the tournament came 23 seconds before the end of regulation time.
That Finland's 3rd goal was absolutely dagger straight Swedes heart.

Usually i don't get emotional because of the hockey game.
But i can't stop crying because i'm so freaking happy and proud of that how our boys played tonight.

This Finnish U20 WJC team has giving to me strong vibes
of Finland's 2019 IIHF worlds gold medal winning team.
It's always great to beat Swedes in elimination round.

Congrats Finland.
We made it see you in semifinals.

What a game, i'm amazed and this game litterally touched my soul, i feel bad for being so harsh on some players, but this, THIS was the true hockey i wanted to see and the Lions put the Finnish sisu on full display here, suck it Sweden (in the nicest way) :D

Ready to give some credit for Pennanen aswell?

Thanks to Sweden for even and exciting game.
Losing quarterfinal sucks but that's a hockey.
See you again next U20 WJC's.

Tack så mycket Sverige och adjö
^^ ( thank you very much Sweden and goodbye )

our young Finnish Lions
Finland is always going to roar back.
Lambert is going to be a beast.

Thanks, guys. Now, I have the song stuck in my head again.

That game winning shift by Finland was actually embarrassing, embarrassing play by Sweden. 5 guys literally stood there. It was a 2on5 and both fins were BEHIND the net. Broberg, Soderstrom, Raymond and one other guy were literally watching for 5 seconds the whole play envelop.

By the way
is there any updates of that Helenius's checking into straight to Sweden's player head.
Helenius got 2+10 minutes so is there any risk for suspension.

What i know there have been some hits which have caused suspensions in these U20 WJC's
so i really hope Helenius isn't next player who gets suspended.
