Sweden should be embarrassed with how they played this year. That’s all I have to say.

Holtz and Raymond were also the 2 most disappointing prospects in the tournament. Tough look, they deserved to lose

Im not so sure this team underperfomed. I think this is how good this team Sweden is. It is a mediocre team Sweden and quarter final is about what you could seriously expect from this group.

WHAT?!

Costmar, Bjornfot and Soderstrom the tournament's best players for Team Sweden?!

There were literally 5 forwards better than Costmar (Raymond, Gunler, Holmstrom, Soderblom, Niederbach) and after the first 2 games Bjornfot and Soderstrom's play dropped off considerably.
Costmar was unreal for sweden, since the start of the tournament.

Agreed. Neither even cracked the top 30 in points before today. Bummer for us and the Devils.

Because we are Swedes, we have never had much of a winning culture within sports in my opinion, I'm starting to believe we do better in senior because the NHL teaches our guys some winning mentality.
But you guys still kick ass in international soccer or football to you. So there is that.

Canada is like that to but for Hockey it is taken a tad more serious.

oh ya we are real good at curling to! As is Sweden! :thumbu:

You need to see the golden triangle. Lundell-Heinola-Pennanen.

This is Lundell's team, he lead by example. True captain. Heinola stepped up huge when needed, when he started to play other D-men grew few inches taller when they saw that hey, hockey can be fun too.

And Pennanen, how he made this team play after devastating start, dumb penalties and no-goal. Players didn't lose faith but actually fought like no tomorrow.

Raymond at least showed up a bit in this one, that 1st goal was so sick. Kind of faded as the game went on though. Holtz complete no-show vs the US and today. Gunler also barely seen except on the PP.

TRue, but if he’s your best player you ain’t winning much. I really like him, but as a grunt. Needed Holts and Raymond to lead the way. I think some of the top Swedish players were playing hurt, because some of them were shying from contact.

Is it really Finland vs Russia next like the Finnish commentators said? I thought that the group winners CAN & USA would be seeded to meet in the final, but I guess not?

Wow, I’m listening to the Swedish head coach... guy is freaking crying and talking like he’s a fan rather than a coach.

I know he was not meant to be head coach but Jesus!! I can see this is where we were lacking, leadership!

He was good, not unreal. Costmar showed a lot of hustle defensively, and was one of the better forwards for Sweden but he wasn't a top 3 player this tournament. Niederbach was just as good defensively this tournament and did more to keep possession and generate offense. When he was on, Sweden was generating chances more often than not. When Costmar was on he was chasing the puck.
