Creating some kind of system where our best prospects don't feel compelled to leave at 17 would be key!

Yes, it's crazy how many Czech players who leave for NA, only to be squelched as young kids at a new culture and a kind of hockey that doesn't help their skillset. Meanwhile, it drains the league of young talent to develop. It's a terrible situation.

It's getting stupid... I think it is because we can't keep up with the pace of a team like Sweden.

I mean for sure Sweden is stronger but it just appears to me that the Czech players default to lazy stickwork.

I still think he'll be an NHLer though and am still a big fan. Just not his tourney this year.

Really was pretty decent until he let in the first goal, which I think its really hard to blame him for he's bound to give up rebounds from hard shots in close. The second one, well.. that's all on him but it's also the kind of mistake that can happen to anybody, after that any confidence he had is gonna be gone.

I think playing in front of the Czech D could be a symptom as well.lol

Unfortunately, a lot of our Czechs do much better when paired up with non Czechs.. eg. Pastrak didn't score a lot in this tourney either!

He's great.. big fan. He set a record last year and made the all star team though. This game was over after 5 minutes... stupid penalties... again.
