Agree. Deeply demoralizing for the team. Actually felt a little bad for him and I don’t appreciate goals scores on the expense of someones mistake. But as a Sweede, I’ll take it.

I feel like Czech doesn’t have enough hockey population to stay a strong hockey power like Sweden. They had some golden generation with a couple stars here and there but never enough to stay competitive for decades. Is hockey a top 3 sports in Czech?

Hockey population isnt a problem. Quality of people responsible for development is questionable. Its a 1./2. most popular sport togehter with soccer.

Just ignore the kids. I think this QF was the worst pick for the Czech team. For some reason, Sweden has your number, in the same way Sweden usually wins against the US in an advantage that shouldn't be possible on paper, while Sweden has a bigger problem beating especially Russia, than they should have.

Against Finland for example, I think would've been a better team to play against for the Czechs and would've been a very close affair.

All the big 5 have our number.lol But thank you. The Swiss would've also given us fits.

Come on now, every fanbase has their bad apples. I've seen plenty of bad posters from Russia and Canada as well, for example.

Much like my Oiler's.. it's an old boys club and a corrupt federation running things.

We'll never match the Canadian programming or the old communist funded days but I have no idea why we aren't trying to emulate what the Swede's do with Dmen or what the Finn's do with half the population of us or what the US do with only a 10th of their country even knowing what hockey is. I actually think we should pick up the phone and call Germany and see what they are doing. I guarantee our better 15 year olds will start going over there soon.

It's getting stupid... I think it is because we can't keep up with the pace of a team like Sweden.

I agree, the Czech hockey program needs reforms. They need to focus on keeping the players they have, as any other small country and have a general strategy for what - and how - to develop different positions.

Creating some kind of system where our best prospects don't feel compelled to leave at 17 would be key!
