Buyouts are flying like crazy!
We might take advantage of signing a player on the cheap or other teams needing cap space to sign newly available players.

To be fair the only obvious thing that they've passed on is Michkov no?

What else am I missing?
Their handling of Slafkovsky is bewildering at every stage.

And going forward we will be more cautious and judicious of their actions, they seem confused and not well-aligned. On the aggregate their statements about Reinbacher are inexplicable.

Get Duchene for 1 year and flip him.

Maybe habs will buy out Armia, but that carries 4 years of dead cap, not as at what amount, though

I disagree with Slaf, so I won't go any further with you on this as I don't want to argue with you. I've become more appreciative of your takes while reading your thoughts on the draft. So i'll just respectfully disagree. :)

Your second point I agree, they will be under more scrutiny, the honeymoon is indeed over. But isn't the whole Reinbacher thing clumped in with Michkov anyway?

This still seems like the only "obvious" miss to me.

Well Carolina should be all over Duchene. Bruins could make sense too but do they have the cap space?

Also Nashville has 8.8 million in retained salary or buyout this year and 11.8 next year.

The thought of starting another season with guys like Armia, Hoffman, Gallagher, Dvorak, Wideman, Allen, Edmunson is something I'm not sure I can stomach. I know nobody else wants these bums either so moving them out is going to be very hard - but they need to be dumped by any means possible. Nobody is giving up picks for anybody but Monahan, and if he has a bounce-back year, we shouldn't trade him anyway.

Buy out Hoffman's last year. Waive Armia. Gallagher is the 13th forward. Wideman gets waived. If we can't trade Dvorak NOW his NMC comes in and we're stuck with him. Waive Allen. Trade Edmunson for whatever you can get.

I would rather lose every game with kids and prospects over playing any of the guys I just mentioned.
