Wish list:
Trade some of Armia, Hoffman, Dvorak, Edmundson, Wideman

Re-sign or replace Schueneman and replace Bowey (Lucas Carlsson, Brogan Rafferty, Trevor Carrick, Maxime Lajoie)
Re-sign or replace Anthony Richard and Alex Belzile (Chris Terry, Matthew Phillips, Rocco Grimaldi, Martin Frk, Gemel Smith)
Re-sign to AHL deal Abbandonato, Dubé
Re-sign or replace AHL deal Martel and Bourque

Sign some muscle that can play hockey for Laval (Daniel Walcott, Jeffrey Viel, Brandon Baddock)

Sign some UDFA to AHL deals.

A really good pick-up for Laval would be Nicolas Meloche. Big, physical defensively conscious RD. Perfect partner for Norlinder. Can see them forming the #1 pairing.

He's from LaSalle too.

They are probably gonna send Wideman to the AHL

Distinct possibility depending on what they get done over the summer. I can actually see him getting claimed on waivers. Really cheap contract now, only one year left, right D, is fine with sitting as he just wants to be in the NHL, knows his role, someone might grab him as depth.

GMs love that. We'll see.

What's being said is that he had a change of heart because of the way it is in MTL (like the craziness that ensued with Reinbacher). This was before the Reibacher crap, so he must of read social media and all the crazies bashing him. There were just as many people wanting him as there were not wanting him, and there was all kinds of crap said on social media about him, Iike; quitter, overpaid and overrated at 60pts, etc. I know some people don't think these people read social media and the like, but they do.
If that is true, then we dodged an 8 year bullet. If it affected the poor chou-chou before he arrived, I hate to think what would have been, after

Even with both Wideman and Edmundson out, we have 7D.
Matheson, Savard, Guhle, Barron, Xhekaj, Harris, Kovacevic
Kovacevic to me remains a spare that can be waived easily. I know some people are high on him here, but I'm not, and he cost nothing to acquire so...

I don't think it's more that it affected him more than he had choices. If you were a player with the choice of going somewhere where you're criticized a the slightest thing, harassed on social media, threats sent you way, etc etc, and going to another destination of your choice, what would you choose? Anyways, this isn't the PLD thread.

Not a bad player, with some compete to his game and has been a proven contributor on a winning team.

Still quite productive offensively while sporting the second best +/- on the Lightning last year. However, the huge fact is that he is turning 34 by the time the season starts. If Alex wants to play closer to home, he will need to accept the term being short. I don't mind a fair cap hit though, as long as it is for a 1-2 year term.

I'd much rather ice a Killorn than guys like Hoffman or Dadonov, who are the same age.

Every winning team needs SOME vets. If Alex Killorn wants to finish his career here, at diminishing salary in proportion to production drops, I would not rule it out.

I hear that... Obviously a short term contract makes more sense for us.

3@5M would be the ideal, 4 is what I think it would take to keep the $ number lower than the UFA premium offers he'll be choosing from.

Realistically, if he did sign anywhere for 1-2 years, he'll be getting much more than 5M imo. Perry, at 38, just got 4M... Killorn getting double that on a 1-2 year deal wouldn't be much of a surprise.

5M/per would be leaving considerable $ on the table in the short term, and with his durability, versatility and approach to the game, Id bet he plans to play till his late 30's & has a good shot at doing so. I'm not too worried that in year 3, or 4 if it takes that, he'll still be impactful enough to be worth 5M$ against the cap, especially banking on the cap rising and us having 4-5 quality contributors on ELC or first RFA deals.

Gamble, but for many reasons I think worth it.

To know Comtois very well (We where in the same class in many class in CEGEP back then and we where sitting together), absolutely 0 chance he's involved in that

He's with the same girlfriend since Secondary school and very loyal, 0 "player" type of person, almost never drink alcool, 0 party type of guy

Any idea what happened to him ? He was real good his first year but apparently has had conditioning issues.

What is this new narrative that PLD did not want to come here?

He wasn’t a UFA, it wasn’t for him to decide.
He signe a 8 years deal elsewhere which means he didn’t want to be a Habs enough.

It also means he doesn’t have any reason anymore for his bad plays with Winnipeg and Colombus shen he apparently wanted to be traded to MTL.

It shiw a lot about him and his character. Time to move on from him.
