Duchene to Carolina
Andersen to Devils.

Those are my guesses.

Sounds like both Ian Cole and Carson Soucy are going to Vancouver.

Yeah, the free agency crop sucks and I don't imagine much will happen.

With the influx of prospects and those being some of the Habs better ones, you should have some toughness on the team.

Anywhere but Toronto for Bertuzzi, Kane, Duchene, Tarasenko or any top guys and I don’t care what happens in FA

To avoid Xhekaj dropping gloves with the useless Lucic or Reaves, yes i’m all for a useless plugs to help him.

The thing is Xhekaj won’t ever back down if challenged. So, you need someone who can take a big part of this load of work.
I mean why else is he in the NHL then? It’s not for his puckmoving. If he feels so inclined, then have at it. I’m not wasting two roster spots on enforcers in 2023. We already have Pezzetta as well.

Plus who can you sign that can realistically beat Reaves or Lucic? Probably some AHL bum that shouldn’t be taking a roster spot.

Damn, I just saw Poehling wasn't given a Q.O by the Penguins, and they're shopping Petry. Pretty solid deal by Hughes getting Matheson from the Pens. We drafted Bogdan with the Pens 4th from that trade too.
A pens fan posted a snippet from an article about Poehling stating they'd (pens) would welcome him back, but he's got some health problems to sort out first.

“If not Toronto, Ryan O’Reilly’s been linked to Detroit, Montreal, Nashville and Vancouver. There’s probably more. However, some sources warned not to discount his desire for St. Louis until he actually signs somewhere else.”

Elliotte “95% sure” Friedman linking O’Reilly with the habs.

Poehling is such a nothing player so no wonder he was not qualified. New management is just taking out the trash from old management.

I mean I like the guy and think he’d be a really good add but who gets moved to accommodate him and at what cost?

This take is really off. Arber is so much more than an enforcer. In fact, his enforcer role is a bonus to everything else he brings to the table and, yes, that includes puck moving, supporting offence, scoring goals in addition to his strong defensive game. At the time of his injury, he was on the primary shutdown pairing with Savard. MSL himself mentioned that we don't usually expect a big, physical dman to have the offensive skills he has. And what the poster said makes sense to me that Arber is too valuable to be constantly fighting and risking an injury.

Why not Teasdale?

Why would we keep Hoffman and Armia over Ylonen?

Because Hoffman and armia require buyouts to not keep. Ylonen has shown very little, it makes no sense to use buyouts for the purpose of protecting Ylonen. Chalk him up to another failed experiment by our drafting and development team.

Just their 2nd offseason......
You make some good points, and it certainly seems fans and media are thinking the honeymoon is over, and it's time to move forward...........we need to show progress in a meaningful way this upcoming season. The injury bug has hopefully moved down the road to another team, would be a major help also.

I think they need to buyout Armia, would love to see Hoffman gone too, but he was already offered for free, and no one bit that bullet.
Don’t see any reason to use buyouts at this point. Waste of space, ties are space for twice as long as the remaining term. No thanks. These would be terrible moves.

Terrible. Guy is 36, so it's 35+ contract, which means they can't buy it out. Guy was ultimately benched by every team he played with last few years. Too slow.
Meh, not like he’s signing a long term deal. Not being able to buy him out is a nothing burger. He’s a bad hockey player though, I’m im ok with this.

Hoffman and Armia can be sent to Laval or put in the stands, they don't have to be bought out.

If Killorn wants to play in Montreal vs stay in the US, I see him signed to a 3-4yr deal @ ~5M cap hit.

Checks several boxes both in need and fit, enough so to offset risk of his productivity dropping without the Bolts talent around him + being in his mid 30's for this contract.

No way this makes sense at that money/term. If that's what killorn is looking for, it would be a mistake for us to give it to him. You don't want to give albatross like contracts to guys on the way down. Dude could easily fall off a cliff. I like the idea of bringing a veteran presence, but not at that price.

Taylor Hall andhis 2 year 6M cap hit would have been a good vet for the top 9. but we passed.

Kilorn? 2 years max for me. and we need to move dvo to have room for him.
