I know we were talking about a long season last night at MSG losing vs islanders, but this rebuild will be a long haul unless we get some changes with management and the current scout staff. We cant afford to miss with too many top draft picks.

Not sure what you've been watching, who has proven to be a "miss" thus far 1 year into our rebuild?

P.S. Sabres fans have been complaining that Mittelstadt has not looked anywhere near ready for the NHL

good job by Lettieri making the team.

Namestnikov finally had a good game and showed off some of his abilities.

Just a guess at this point

K-Z-B
Spooner-Chytil-Zuccarello
Andersson-Hayes-Namestnikov
Vesey-Howden-Fast
Lettieri

I guess McLeod could take a spot somewhere, but whose the 4C? Are we putting Namestnikov or Andersson there? I wouldn't.

Skjei-Shatty
Staal-Pionk
Smith-McQuaid
Claesson-DeAngelo

I think we'll carry 8. They seem to want to keep Claesson around. I don't know why, but it doesn't really matter either way. DeAngelo is the #7. I think Pionk gets the start over DeAngelo due to better NHL cameo so far and more versatile type of game. We already have Shatty on that right side for the OFD role. McQuaid probably is the worst D on that right side, but I don't think we are sitting a player we traded a pick for.

Lundqvist
Georgiyev

I'd say Georgiyev, DiAngelo and Andersson have all done enough to secure a spot. Chytil I haven't seen enough of, but what I did see wasn't exactly him setting the world on fire. He should start in the AHL in my opinion. Hajek has been good, but no need to rush him up for what will likely be a difficult season. Meskanen and Lindqvist haven't done enough to claim a spot if you ask me, but would be handy spares. Are they waiver exempt? McQuaid would be the #7 for me, trot him out for games you think will be more physical. Mazanec and Tokarski havev been meh. They can make up the pairing in Hartford.

McLeod needs to go the way of Tanner Glass.

Serious question. Is this AV's legacy or just NHL hockey? The numbers are a bit extreme, but are there teams in the NHL that don't get out attempted when leading by multiple goals in the third?

Teams that take a lead into the 3rd period usually get outshot. It's common sense. Teams that are down a goal or 2 tend to push more and spend more time in the offensive zone.

This is entirely correct, though getting out-attempted 28-3 5v5 in a single period is still quite out of the ordinary.

Idk what all the fuss is about after this game. We iced a horrible roster. If that lineup played every regular season game we’d go winless.

Agreed

We could be much further along right now if not for Clark and Gorton and their boneheaded arrogant drafting. And I worry what they do with next summers top 10 pick. So much talent if they go off the board again. My god.
