To think Chytil could make it and LA could not...
What a crazy turn of events. Didn't see this coming
Andersson plays a completely different style, which isn't as flashy and noticeable. Both have a good chance of making the team on talent alone. I just don't think it's good asset management to have them on the team for more than 9 games unless they really improve the team (top-6 role or dominant on the 3rd line)
did Shatty have 3 assists tonight?
I really never noticed just how quick Shattenkirk turns till now.
His starts and stops, and his tight turns are friggin ridiculous.
It is a sight to behold, for sure. This is the type of player we have been lacking on the right side for over a decade.
Lot to get excited about here. Two young prospects who have done very well so far.
Hell of a pass by Zucc, and Chytil wasted no time in getting that shot off.
Shatty as well.
Wooo. Pumped up now.
This is the most exciting pre-season in years. I am definitely pumped to see what happens.
Amazing game by Chytil.
I don't really understand AV's usage of Andersson. You'd think you want to see what he's got and give him ice time and opportunities but he was playing Gropp and Gilmour on the PP2 over him. Obviously if he makes the team he wouldn't be on the PP but he could if there are injuries and he impresses and you'd think you should give him the opportunity over two guys with zero chance to make the roster.
Andersson is seen as a 2-way center, similar to Stepan. If you want to see how a guy does in a defensive role, his usage last night makes sense. I just hope he gets a chance to show his offensive upside as well. Chytil played with Kreider and Zuccarello. Andersson deserves a game with those type of linemates, because he has been really impressive in the limited role he has been given so far.
Chytil is a more flashy player and won't do well in a bottom-6 role so I understand AVs reasoning behind the line combinations.
Anyone else impressed by tambellini? Big smooth skater, fast decent hands. Thought he was very noticeable
It has been a while but Tambellini is growing into a very nice prospect, under the radar. Not that he will be a top-6 contributor for the Rangers, but with another year in Hartford, he might turn into a good option for a bottom-6 role. He has a long way to go still but the progression is certainly nice to see.
Chytil FTW was too perfect
4 AM in the morning and I am yelling because Chytil capped off a wonderful game with the game-winner in OT, on the powerplay, with less than 10 seconds to go. That was perfection
