The video Nev just posted shows this.
Very difficult to make that pass accurately moving like that. Great play.
I will not back of my assessment that MZA is the best player on the team. He's a fantastic player.

lmao someone over on the NJD board is ragging on Chytil for his celly.
I too make fun of kids who are playing in their first NHL game and scored a goal.
Yeah tank with a team that seems to contend every year. So they can maybe possibly get a 20% chance to get the top pick. A very smart strategy that would get any GM rightly fired for really being patently stupid.
Thoughts, ranked in order of good to bad:
Impressed me:
CHYTIL -*holy crap. Even before the goal, I was blown away. The last time I recall a Ranger rookie in his frst camp being that good, it was Brian Leetch. Seriously, he reminded me of (and I'm NOT saying he'll be as good as) Mario Lemieux.
KREIDER - that was vintage "on" Kreider. That's a 30-goal, allstar winger right there. Especially liked to see it in a game where he was given a letter. Need to see consistency, of course.
HAYES - legit second line center play right there. He needs to keep that up, and we'll be good. Again, need to see consistency.
SHATTENKIRK - as advertised. Game-changer on the PP, and on the rush. Was beaten on a scoring chance late, but on balance was eye-opening. I'll take a little bad with a ton of good.
SKJEI - power and speed, as always. I love McD, but he may soon be our best LHD.
ZUCCARELLO - vintage. Amazing passing and awareness.
ANDERSSON - subtle, but continues to impress. I think Chityl has the higher upside, but love what I see from him in a middle six center role. Did he lose a faceoff or miss an assignment? Perhaps, but I didn't catch it.
VESEY - good Jimmy. Not as obviously excellent as some of the others, but made a bunch of solid plays, including especially the pass to Hayes.
Okay/up-and-down:
SMITH– mostly quiet and getting the puck out of danger. Solid, not spectacular. His calling card.
PUEMPEL - more engaged than usual. A couple of real scoring chances. No major liabilities that I recall.
TAMBELLINI - really good through the first half of the game. Fell off in the second. Looked to me what Gropp should look like.
Expected to be cut:[/B
PEDRIE - started out well passing and defending, but felt he folded a bit under pressure as the game wore on. Not ready to give up on him yet, but he needs to progress.
GROPP - I have been a fan, but he's too much of a passenger tonight. Needs to use his skills more.
DESHARNAIS - it's nice that he scored a goal by being in front, but other than that, I saw a 13th forward's game. Thought he dragged down his linemates' games. Out-played by both Chytil and Andersson for the bottom 6 cener role, IMO.
DESJARDINS - started out well, and became less noticeable as the game wore on. Non-factor in the last period and a half.
STAAL - unchanged from last year, unfortunately.
CATENACCI - didn't notice him at all. For D, that's okay For a forward...
GILMOUR - whoof. Flashes some signs in the O-zone, but small, slow, and out of postion on D.
Losing in the second round after having to make the playoffs via a wild card spot is not contending.
One other thing--I think if the Rangers are contemplating keeping Andersson and/or Chytil they should make sure they play with good players---not be 4th liners/part time players. They're going to have to live with all the growing pains that come with that too. Based on what I've seen so far either one of them looks pretty damn good and at least very very close.
