This might be the best pre-season performance by an 18-year old in a Rangers jersey in decades. Even without the goal, he was very, very noticeable.

I really never noticed just how quick Shattenkirk turns till now.
His starts and stops, and his tight turns are friggin ridiculous.

Not just the pass, watch his skating from when he got th puck. Goes in, draws it back out to open the lane and puts it right in the perfect spot for a perfect finish

Lot to get excited about here. Two young prospects who have done very well so far.
Hell of a pass by Zucc, and Chytil wasted no time in getting that shot off.

LA is still very good in his own zone. Hasn't shown the pizzaz that Chytil does, but very solid all around - which bodes better for early/young NHL players.

We knew this was a possibility, though I think their different styles can contribute.
In LA's defense, he has the 'safer' game while Chytil has a bit more flash.

I don't really understand AV's usage of Andersson. You'd think you want to see what he's got and give him ice time and opportunities but he was playing Gropp and Gilmour on the PP2 over him. Obviously if he makes the team he wouldn't be on the PP but he could if there are injuries and he impresses and you'd think you should give him the opportunity over two guys with zero chance to make the roster.

Lias also wasnt playing (tonight) with arguably our 2 best players.
IMHO, EVERYONE plays better with Zucc
EVERYONE plays better with Kreider
Put those 2 together with like...me, and you'd have a good line. You cant undervalue just how good those 2 guys are.

It seemed to me that he wanted to see how he handled a strict checking role. 3rd line C and PK for the most part.

It's kind of why I feel it would be somewhat beneficial to not play them on the same line. They both are such strong possession players. Zucc could drag Hayes' ass, while Kreider fits perfectly with Zib
The video Nev just posted shows this.
Very difficult to make that pass accurately moving like that. Great play.
