I guess the Kreider for captain boat just sank. You know this fanbase.

But to be honest, he did look like the uninspired and more or less invisible Kreider we know from the past. And that's not good.

He's recovered from the surgery. He was around a point a game in March.

Its the first pre season game of the year. If he continues to play like this 10 games in then we can start to worry.

I see some people (mainly on the game thread) saying that Pionk is better than DeAngelo. Maybe he is. Maybe he isn’t. But tonight, I don’t know how you can say Pionk was better. I’m a huge fan of both (I loved Pionk since the signing and I loved ADA even before he was with the Rangers), but DeAngelo was hands down the superior player tonight. I know it’s preseason, but it still feels damn good to see some progression from ADA.

You haven't missed a thing and he's still the same Kreider lol.

He needs to step up as a leader or step aside IMO

Yes we are talking about it in the Kreider topic, but I can mention it here as well I think we should wait to announce a captain since we are rebuilding - at least my current view on it. There are many key players who could be moved based on that topic - so hard to predict anything in near future with this team next year in April.

They shouldn't name anything until they have a handle on what the core of this team is going forward.

That said, the front runner has to be the guy who scored twice tonight.

He's had all summer.
He needs to set the example on day one!

Yes Lias was simply amazing tonight, but most had the whole summer to stay in shape for this camp. But guys we don`t know all details concerning Kreider and related to his injury - maybe he was under medication and things like that so as I mention earlier I just hope he is not struggling based on his injury and is okey. I think about the person Kreider here and I wish him very well.

Pionk played better tonight, which is what I said.

That doesn’t mean it will be next game.

Let’s say I said “tonight it Monday night”, and on Tuesday night you said “omg your are so wrong”, I wouldn’t need to make a retraction argument.

But he didn't.

He wasn't bad, but ADA was clearly the better player and looked dominant at times. I mean i guess if you just turned it on for the last 3 seconds and saw Pionks tap in OT winner then I could see how you thought he was the better player.
