Kotch didn't look good at all today. Lots of power plays and 2-on-1s against and SKA looked tired, but most of the goals went through him. I love that he's getting KHL time on a very good team, but there's got to be a way not to start a 20-year-old kid on back-to-back nights.

Looks like Kochetkov is starting for SKA's home opener today. Hellberg must still be injured.

I think this is a pretty good list with my only complaint being a good bit of recency bias.

While you may be right and I honestly haven’t looked too closely, recency should probably prevail in these types of lists. The guys from last year’s list that really crushed it, or even some that just maintained their projections, are now ineligible as eventually they become NHL players.

Said another way - every year the most recent draft class should probably be the most represented on the list, because they haven’t had anyone a) graduate or b) bust off of the list yet. At the very least that should be true at the top of the list, where last year’s high draft picks just finished their rookie years and have left their open spots for this year’s high draft picks.

Said yet another way - every year you’re on this list is a year you didn’t break into the NHL, and this year’s draft class is the only exception to that.

I still don't understand.

I thought for sure it would say why it was 123 instead of a nice even number like 100 or 124, but no.

There's really no new work here. If you look at all his individual team farm system rankings, he ranked guys into tiers. Superstar, Elite, High end, Very good, Legit, etc. He cut this list off after the very good/legit bubble tier and that just the number of players who were rated at that tier or higher.

Have to get him ready for the Cam Ward treatment.

I go check if Timmy is in well, just in case.

Looking up from the bottom of a well:
