You look at Montreal's bottom-6, they could be combinations for Laval:
Andersson - Mesar - Heineman
Bourque - Gignac - Davidson
Andersson - Mesar - Heineman
Bourque - Gignac - Davidson
Only 3 of those, will be with us on our next Cup run...I believe there are only 7 players left over from the team that went to the cup final and not 1 dman
Allen
Anderson
Armia
Caufield
Evans
Gallagher
Suzuki
doubt anything happens. Sens know they'll have to answer for it in the reg. season and they're trying to make the playoffsLaraque FWIW calling out the Habs on his show for sending out its best players against goons tonight and not being more cognizant of what is likely to happen as the goons try to make a statement to help or secure their jobs.
He fears that the goons will target and aim to injure our best players and MSL did nothing to take dissuasive measures with the way he’s constructed his lineup.
Maybe nothing will happen but it’s more likely that the goons will be goons.
The players trying to make the team don't give a damn about that. And an imbecile like Smith is too stupid to see farther than this game.doubt anything happens. Sens know they'll have to answer for it in the reg. season and they're trying to make the playoffs
Preseason eh..............always has scared me from the injury front....Laraque FWIW calling out the Habs on his show for sending out its best players against goons tonight and not being more cognizant of what is likely to happen as the goons try to make a statement to help or secure their jobs.

Habs wanted Mesar to develop at center since he was drafted, so I'm not surprised they are playing him there.Andersson-Mešar-Heineman
I like they put the 2 Swedes together since I figured they would be a line together in Laval. Interesting that they have Mesar at center.
From people who watch the AHL they said Keeper is a bit crazy, so if things do go south will be interesting to see how he does.

He’s looked pretty good there.Habs wanted Mesar to develop at center since he was drafted, so I'm not surprised they are playing him there.
The injury would have happened in September 2021...xhekaj would have been an undrafted, unsigned player on his way back to Kitchener in the OHL.Yeah so crookshank was injured by a Xhekaj in the rookie tournament. An NHL rookie who plays hard is very different than a team consistently year after year dressing all of it AHL head hunters against us in preseason.
Agreed I think Newhook is more suited to wing but can play C. Like Andrew Shaw Not a playstyle comparison rather if he has to play C for 10-20 games that's okay but should be a winger most of the time kind of comparison.
I d like Newhook and Dach on the same Line to alternate between wing and centersYeah so crookshank was injured by a Xhekaj in the rookie tournament. An NHL rookie who plays hard is very different than a team consistently year after year dressing all of it AHL head hunters against us in preseason.

I thought OTT would have made the playoffs with another coach last year and every decision this guy (Smith) takes brings me to the same conclusion. Thanks buddy. I know you are unfamiliar with what depth is since your team hasn't made the playoffs in 6 years, but finding line combinations that work in preseason can help build chemistry and thus win valuable points in the standings. But hey playing Imama on the first line is clearly so he can try and make the team right?
Sens apparently have 5 first liners and 3 #1 dman but still can't make the playoffs.I thought OTT would have made the playoffs with another coach last year and every decision this guy (Smith) takes brings me to the same conclusion.
I Guess he is so happy about the wins against TOR he does not need anymore reps for his top lines

PP1: Matheson - Suzuki - Caufield - Dach - Monahan
It's strange for me to stare at a lineup and see a bunch of names I don't recognize. I get it – pre-season, bottom-half of the roster, etc. – I was just hoping to see one of the Sens' top forwards, especially since I'm going to the game. How is it odd?
1. Montreal is at home, and traditionally, the home team plays the more talented squad.
2. Ottawa's line-up is comprised of every single forward that is competing for a bottom-six position and every single defenceman that is competing for a bottom-pairing position. Cuts will undoubtedly follow this game.

I recall that when he was drafted, Slafkovsky was identified by an analytics expert from the Athletic as being just at the cusp of a "no draft" because he only barely reached the level of acceleration and straight line speed that was the bare minimum of any forward in the NHL.Not that Slaf isn't fast,
But Newhook and Anderson is way too fast for him lol
Dach and RHP is perfect for him
Imama is not fighing for a position in Ottawa, he's an AHL goon and have been for the last 5 years. How is it odd?
