I still can't with that smile from Pare at the end of the game man... I hope the players get to see that. I want to see some freaking anger when they play again on game 1

Is this the first time some of you go through pre-season or what. You’d think the team is getting re-located the way this GDT is going.
Habs board is on suicide watch lmao
I’m afraid Habs showed both tonight. That is our real PP system.
This is last year's PP system, they haven't practiced it yet this year. Burrows is gone, give the coaches some time.

Way too many preseason games. NHL needs to cut it down, season should start October 1st anyway.
It's not too many, if you use the preseason wisely to try new line combinations and see a lot of rookies/prospects, instead of dumbly rolling with Caufield/Suzuki/Slafkovsky, like it's going to give MSL any new information. It's useless to play surefire NHLers but if you're going to do it, at least break up the line and let them play with rookies.

I hate looking at highlights from other teams around the league and then comparing them to our team... other teams are getting bardown snipes and one timer goals on a nightly basis.... we can barely even string together a PASS lmao....

It's legitimately like watching two different sports.
it's been like this for 20 years, at least the first line is decentish now , they need help desperately from a second line or they will get clamped every night. pp is a complete disaster. Demidov is needed . Caufield needs to step up or we go nowhere fast

Our execution on offense has been absolutely terrible so far this preseason. Bobbling pucks, missed pass receptions, slow reactions to shoot. So casual and dull. The only player who has shown any level of reasonable consistency when it's come to execution on offense is Hutson. It's just disgusting how inconsistent everyone else has been. We will not win many games if we continue playing like that.

Yes it's preseason, but it's also preseason for the other teams.

I suppose maybe I need to "chill out" like Price famously said. But it's extra hard to chill out with these early season injuries. Feels cruel to be starting the season this way after the way the last three have gone.

Caufield - Suzuki - Slaf aren't playing to give Marty new informations. They are playing to get the rust off after not having played a hockey game in 5 months...

The PP was dreadful. I don’t understand why they didn’t try Hutson on the 1st unit

Happy Xhekaj went after that bum who knee'd Laine. These kinds of moments have silver linings -- the rest of the roster has to learn + accept that they're responsible for their teammates and any injury attempt or grievous cheap shot must be addressed hastily.

We were (are) bottom-feeders so nobody cares about playing us but as soon as competitive games actually come and games matter for playoff seeding our team will have to face a lot more physical challenges. Xhekaj can't do it alone, everybody has to do it. Slafkovsky has to be a bully. Savard has to be vicious with his stick in the corners. Armia has to suffocate players across the board. Whether Hughes or MSL want it, or not, on a winning team there is no room to spare for mid-talents who don't play tough (ie Dvorak, Evans, Barron).

Well as long as communication from top management is flawless, people will be happy. It s been years that they cannot set proper plays and have decent possession games.

I am not sure if it is the players and not the coaches too at some point. I think that because CC has been scoring more points until MSL vs Ducharme, MSL is looking like a Genius, whereas actually all bottom players have been pretty terrible / not great under him.
The systems are non existent right now, let s hope everything is ready for regular season opener.

They can't keep the Suzuki line together with Laine gone, they're going to have to give Dach somebody to play with.
Yup back to plan A before we even thought Laine was a possibility.
Suzuki/Slaf and Caufield/Dach duo's. Then the lack of Solid winger depth rears it's ugly head.

Will we ever even play again this guy again?

He's been a career AHL/ECHL'er so far
