Toronto sent an AHL line-up and all Montreal could do was score 1 measly goal with all the powerplays they had, it was not an impressive outing to say the least. It's pre-season and usually there are some players that stand, till now it's only been Hutson.

After the Laine hit i was in shock and didn't care about the game. I have the feeling it was the same for players, they were off. But yup they gotta move on fast and score goals.

Very tough to see what happened last night - when I saw the hit…I think we were all in shock and it sucked the life out the game. Reinbacher to also go down on such a soft hit…I mean it completely ruined the evening for sure and the team also - hope Laine has a speedy recovery but I think it will be for a long time especially since nothing was anounced today

That being said - Roy was an absolute Ghost out there - didn’t feel he was involved in the play at all and not engaged….soft to say the least….wasnt impressed

Power play needs to seriously get fixed…we are being way too cute….shoot the F’ing puck!!

I think the team was as hyped for Laine than we were. They probably reacted just like us, a cold cold shower.

And also, when you see an important player getting injured early in a non important game you may decide to take less risks.

Still the pp needs to be addressed. It wasn't last season. Hutson alone won't fix it.

These are professional hockey players who have seen all kinds of physical play since their teens. How they responded was very disappointing (performance wise), except for Arber.

I gained so much respect years ago when he fought Jamie Benn and Zdeno Chara...what happened?
Sat on his long term contract. Some players find another gear, some coast on reputation.

He did however put in a lot of work this summer with Nicholas.

Maybe he became less aggressive from the time Pietrangelo fed him his teeth while the former’s teammates had his arms pinned.

A cynic might even add how he got married this summer.

Regardless, he remains foisting material in a Curb Your Enthusiasm kind of way. 💀

Haha maybe. It's sad though, the way he's played in the past. Is exactly what we're missing from our forward group.
He’s at a level of mediocrity that erodes his raw tools. They’d need to find a similar physical big body with better IQ to fit in their bottom 6 and those guys don’t tend to be on the market.

I think that due to his injury in the past, and upon the Habs request, he's trying to change his game to be able to play long term and not have a shorter career, just like the Habs asked Gallagher to do, the problem is that's what made him successful and we need physical Anderson.

I do wonder if he lost his identity whole trying to adjust to MSL's system. He doesn't seem to rely on the attributes that made him valuable to the game. Hopefully he figured it out this summer. We need 2021 Anderson and not 2024.

You were shocked? really? now I'm shocked, I'm not, just fooling around. Been around the game forever and injuries are part of the game. Been involved in a few games where players got hurt and some had to be stretchered off the ice, puts a damper on the game but eventually rounds back into form.
