Pretty sure we got streams a few years ago. I remember watching the Kings/Coyotes in 2011 on a stream.

For Bakersfield, I wasn't surprised there wasn't a stream set up. I'm a little surprised there isn't one for Staples Center.

Especially considering that when asked about it on Facebook, the kings social media made the excuse that there would be no feed since it was hosted at a non NHL venue the building was not equipped for broadcasts.

On the bright side... **** you guys I'll be there.

I emailed the Kings earlier about the lack of stream issue, and this was their response:

Fox Sports West controls the broadcast rights and they have chosen not to stream or broadcast the game tonight.

That makes SLIGHTLY more sense, but that's just passing the buck. Or is it? FSW has broadcasting rights sure, but I don't see why, if they don't want to televise it, why the team wouldn't be able to just cheapstyle video it. Unless they literally can't.

I dunno, just peeved because MANY other teams have no problem gaining access.

It's all about the ratings. We are near the bottom of them for our local market, if I'm not mistaken like bottom 5. And they have a Angels game tonight on the main and just don't feel it's worth it to do the game on PT. And I can understand them not just wanting to throw it up. They are just as interesting in growing the game as the Kings. So they would want full production values to show it. Otherwise someone just turning it on might think that is normal and then not tune back in again.

It's not listed on their site. And one of the other services isn't listing the game for today being shown. And if it was they would have it.

That is not an adequate excuse. So you're telling me the person that signed the agreement didn't reserve the right to stream/televise Kings events, in the event that FSW didn't plan on airing it. Little short sighted.


On the bright side, the Oilers were streaming their home game (split squad) last night, the one with McDavid. The stream cut out before the Oilers scored 3 goals and managed to win it.





Was going to post a how to build a radio for those members that may have misplaced theirs in the garage, but this was just too awesome. Ahhhh the golden age of science... when you could just go out to your garage and do some "science" without the police being called.
