I agree, and I thought I remembered him being 180 from a Gann article too. Not shocked at all, he's been putting in the work. I was just trying to compare him to similar Kings.

Was more laughing at the idea of Williams being 6'1"...maybe with really tall skates on.

Yeah, I think JW himself said that he was closer to 5'11.

Oh you don't have to tell me about Weal, I've been one of his biggest fan for a few years now. You probably don't remember, but at one time, I had an avatar of Weal, so, yeah, I'm a HUGE fan.

I remember that however i was not and have been talking about not seeing where he fits all summer. Now i can see where he could be used effectively So in short i am coming around on him

If Lewis indeed does start the season as our 3C, then I think Weal will be our 4C with Shore in Ontario. However, if Lewis' line doesn't produce, I can see Sutter moving Weal up to 3C.

I actually posted this last season about Weal, he was working so hard on his body that he actually gained 10lbs of muscle DURING the season and that's near impossible to do!!!
Weal is a legit 5'-10", 185lbs....or half an inch and 5lbs lighter than MR

I think its most likely to start out the way as you say. However if lewis's line doesn't score I see shore coming up to take 3c lewis to 4rw and nolan being benched.

Also, when did Dustin Brown decide he doesn't need to hit anymore? Dude used to run everyone.

Lucic-Kopitar-Gaborik, or at least 2 of those 3 will be Kings for a long time so that line is set...

Pearson-Carter-Toffoli is set for years too.

King-Lewis-Brown....I wish the Kings could make all these players vanish. It would be awesome if some of the guys below were up here. Lewis is a UFA, King has a few more years of his deal and Brown has like 7.

Clifford-Shore/Weal/Andreoff-Nolan/Andreoff/Weal...not bad depending on the mix.

I think Mersch makes King expendable or gives the Kings a back up option if Lucic leaves as a UFA...they can either put Mersch up there or move King up.

His hits have dropped off a bit, but he still always remains in the top 15 in hits every year. I think we all got used to his crushing hit we became spoiled. He still nails a few guys every year, like this beauty on Perry last season:

Brown threw a nice hit at Tuesday's game. I honestly though Brown was the best veteran in that game aside from Doughty. He was all over the ice and creating turnovers on the forecheck but he nor his linemates could do anything after. He was out there flying around which is encouraging to say the least. He had a breakaway and another good chance that I can't think of off the top of my head (maybe 2 on 1 w/ Kopi?)

I just watched that hit like 10 times quick like, then once from the start of the video, near frame by frame....

That was a pretty good one.

HE STICK HANDLED RIGHT INTO THE GOALIE. MAKE A MOVE!

lol, naw he is looking up. I still look at him with expectations he probably won't be able to fill... But looked good at least a few times. I think he had more than one break away, or at least a couple where he was heading in alone with a lot of space.

^ Yeah Gaborik had one nice line rush where he got the puck in stride coming over the blue line on the right wing and proceeded to take one more step and made an AHL defender look like an AHL defender. He missed wide with his shot I think..

I remember being super pissed after that Brown hit because the penalties evened up despite brown eating a high cross check from a third man in on a clean hit.

Yep. It was basically being penalized for hitting too hard. I think I remember Jim Fox commenting on that too and being perplexed as to why the Kings weren't on the power play.

It's a shame there are so many ******* in the NHL nowadays. Can't have a single hit without a total circus breaking out.
