I still think something is going to give with Kane. It seems obvious that Arvidsson and Hyman will be the top two RW and RNH and Skinner will be the top two LW. I assume they want to run the Janmark-Henrique-Brown line back given how much success they had in the playoffs, meaning the fourth line has Kane/Holloway/Perry/Ryan/McLeod fighting it out for minutes. That's a lot of cash for a fourth liner, and Kane probably won't be happy with his role. Running Holloway and McLeod together, with Perry and Ryan alternating in and out of the lineup all year makes more sense.
What's incredible is that we're actually in a pretty decent cap situation for this season in spite of all of the signings JJ made today. If they move out Kane and send down one of Brown or Stecher, they'll have $3.5-$4 million in space to sign Holloway and Broberg. We can probably afford to give Broberg some term to help keep him as a cost controlled asset, and still have a bit of space to add at the deadline. If we manage to move Ceci's final season as well (either now or at the deadline), then we've got a ton of room to add on the blueline at the deadline.
Today was a masterclass by Jackson.
